The Associated Press moved this story at 5:30 p.m. (EST) on Sunday:

Matsui says he hasn’t made decision, yet
TOKYO (AP) — Kazuo Matsui still hasn’t decided which team he’ll play for next season.
The Japanese free agent shortstop told reporters Sunday that he hasn’t reached an agreement yet.
“It’s a fact that I’m negotiating with the Mets,” Matsui said. “I’m in the process of selecting a team from the four I’m talking to.”
The New York Mets haven’t commented on the talks; Matsui didn’t name the other three teams.

Hardly, sure he makes great plays once in a while, especially in the postseason, but his defense is average at best. He has poor range, turns DP poorly, not so accurate anymore, and groundballs up the middle will go through 9 out of 10 times. The best thing he does is going into the hole.
