Blue Jays acquire infielder Mike Aviles from Red Sox in deal for RHP David Carpenter and release manager John Farrell from his contract. (TSN)

Maybe Toronto coaxes Bobby Cox out of retirement and back to Toronto for one more go around...they already tried Cito.

lol, doubt that'll happen. Though look at what Cito did for the Jays. Biggest thing he helped them with...Bautista. If it wasn't for Cito, Bautista wouldn't have hit how he's been hitting the past few years. Jays will just settle for whoever wants to coach here

That's one thing I hate about Toronto teams(mostly Raptors/Jays) most coaches they get, are all guys who've never coached before(and never coached again after coaching the Jays).

Of the experienced managers, I'd actually want Jays to get someone like Jim Tracy(currently available),Ron Gardenhire(similar situation as Farrell was with Jays, not given contract extension past 2013, so his rights could also be traded?).

Tracy actually would have been great choice.

Former manager of the year, 4 85+ win seasons(another season with .600+ win% in just under 120 games) and used to be bench coach of the Expos.
Trust me, you don't want Tracy.

If Torey Lovullo doesn't go to Boston with Farrell, I wouldn't be surprised if he got the Toronto job.

Coaching personnel on the Jays are not allowed to make lateral moves so unless Luvullo becomes a bench coach or hitting coach he'll be sticking around in Toronto.

The Farrell situation was unique because it was Farrell's dream job and (I have no proof of this) something tells me Anthopoulos may have soured on Farrell what with Omar Vizquel coming out late in the year saying how Farrell wasn't communicating and working well with the younger players.

                Damn...

Well, we tried to sneak Sandy back to being a cohort of Francona's in Cleveland, but I'm almost positive he's going to Toronto now.
