We don't have a nutjob as a manager. That alone would make any player play better baseball.

Because we got the good components... Reyes = highly above average shortstop... JJ = easy #1 when healthy... Buehrle = one of the best innings eaters in the game who's somehow underrated while overrated... and hell, even Boni brings some speed and decent promise to the table.

Along with those guys, we had an offence that before everyone got injured was the first team to reach 500 runs, a solid bullpen with depth, and a rotation that's very promising.

I'm not doing this... you seem to love to take the opposite side of me on everything so I'm not gonna do this. My argument was that the Blue Jays got the Marlins' core with a significantly better supporting cast, which you ignored. Oh well.

Love new jerseys on players, but the only one that looks natural is Reyes and i thought he was going to be the one that would look the most unnatural haha.

The Padres have never done anything close to this dispicable.

The only thing good about this trade is Donald Sterling is now officially off the hook for being the worst owner in pro sports.

Maybe the investment in Reyes is enough to get the Jays to figure out how to get natural grass in the Dome.

Beeston has been looking for ways to do it within a '13-'14 timeframe though the biggest stumbling block is how to kick the Argos out without looking callous.

They should really just upgrade BMO field. Make it 30,000 seat place or something and Argos could play there(their 2012 attendance average is about 23,000 people). Rogers owns Argos don't they? And own MLSE, so something could work out.

Though it's not just Argos. Rogers Centre hosts many other events as well. Is it possible to have real grass, in a place that's build for events other than baseball as well?

In the 2010 offseason the Red Sox made all the moves that had people wondering if baseball was even fair anymore. 162 games and a bucket of fried chicken later they had imploded into the mess they are today.

In the 2011 offseason it was the Angels turn to have a December victory parade and then they proceeded to waste a historic season by Mike Trout en route to a 3rd place finish.

Are the Jays better today than they were this morning? Yes, probably...but titles aren't won in November/December/January and we always seem to forget that for some reason.

EDIT: I should add that just 12 months ago Buerhle and Reyes were a part of the Marlins offseason that was supposed to make them contenders...en route to a last place finish.
All true. But the teams you mention (BOS, DET, LAA) are used to making big moves, spending big bucks, and have a recent history of going deep into the postseason. What buzz-worthy acquisitions have the Jays made since Clemens in '97? Sure, this trade could be a flop, but give Toronto fans a break: there's nothing wrong with a little hope and excitement now and again.
