Instead of trading him for an established starter with only a couple years left of control, it makes more sense for them to use him to get a top line young starter in return with many years of control left. The A's have a couple that could fit that bill (Jarod Parker) that already have major league and playoff experience.
Got to speak with Ned Yost. He likes Myers and said that Moore is open to all possibilities, but it would take a high end arm to part with him. Take that for what it's worth.

So...that Lester for Myers ship had sailed a week ago, right?

I would hope so. I like Lester, but no way I give up Myers for him. Last season and a half for Lester are huge question marks.

Nolasco wants out as well, don't know if the Sox are interested in him or not, I'm a little iffy.

(Meant Sandy Alderson^, not Omar Minaya, wasn't thinking, oops.)

RA Dickey is getting traded to every team in baseball. Seriously, I speak to one person it is the Blue Jays, another it's the Dodgers, another it's the Red Sox.

They are said to be talking about lower tier pitchers once the market begins to form. But, Ron Gardenhire made a comment saying that he told the front office before leaving their suite that he feels like they are trading the whole team away.

I know it's a joke, but I see them trying to be active on the trade front. Their Span deal was brilliant. Kid can pitch.

Nationals have signed Dan Haren to a $13 million deal for 1 year.

Any chance of the Brewers trading for a SP? Someone like James Shields.

What could they possibly offer in return? It's going to take a MLB ready middle of the order bat and prospects.

Completely agree. Don't see the Brewers as a match. Their system is a bit young and Rays would need someone ready to go plus prospects.

With the news that the Rangers and Josh Hamilton are working on a 4 year deal, do you think there is any chance the Phillies swoop in at the last minute with a better offer?

Yes, they did the same thing with Cliff Lee. There's a chance, but if Rangers feel like they can't get Greinke, they'll lock up Hamilton.

I know they did the same with Lee, but he also didn't have the baggage that Hamilton has off the field. I'd love to have him in that lineup though.

Amaro was asked if he had any contact with Hamilton or his agent and he said, "No, but I wouldn't tell you if I did." Typical Amaro. Dude has a poker face for sure.
