Re: MLB Off-Topic 2013
Nice to see the international effort move away from Japan. I just wonder what it'll be like time difference wise for us in North America.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

^They're 17 hours difference from PST aren't they? So I'd expect the game to be like 12pm local time maybe?(which would be 10pm on east coast and 7pm on west coast)
Also...this is an actual article from the network that airs Jays games(The title of it..."If Jesus were a ballplayer")

After today's M's and A's game raw sewage flooded the visiting and home locker rooms. Both teams had to shower together in the Raiders facilities. I'm sure that was fun for everybody involved.
Sewage problems are not new at the Coli but this is being reported as the worst ever.
Selig get off your ****ing lazy *** and make some kind of decisions regarding the A's stadium issue.

Re: MLB Off-Topic 2013
Those of you who have Netflix, there is a great documentary on there called Knuckleball!. It focuses on Wakefield and Dickey during the 2011 season and speaks on their struggles to make it to where they are and their connection with others who have thrown the pitch. They do interviews with them and the old knuckleballers and show some highlights from throughout the season. I'd recommend it to any baseball fan.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic 2013
What'd people think of 8 team playoff format like this:
Quarter finals is best of 3 series(5 days to play series)
Semi finals is best of 5 series(7 days to play series)
League finals is best of 7 series(11 days to play series)
World Series is best of 7 series(11 days to play series)
Those playoffs would take just over a month to play. And the only off days would be between series, and city switches(WS for example, game 1/2 on back to back days in City A, then a day off, then game 3/4 on back to back days in City B, a day off, game 5 in City A, day off, game 6 in City B,day off, game 7 in City A)Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic 2013
3-game series are way way too short to have a 1 seed play an 8 seed. I like baseball the way it is. Only exception is when the the #5 team is miles behind the #4. Hasn't happened as much the past few seasons and there was often a playoff game any way.
2001 for example, the 102 win Oakland A's were the wild card. Minnesota would have been the 2nd wildcard at 85-77. If Minnesota wins, that's a shame.
Here are the AL playoffs in 2011, just to show how ugly it can get if you are going to have quarterfinals (unless you are giving byes or something, which you just can't do for an extended period of time).
1. NY Yankees
8. Cleveland Indians (80-82)
4. Tampa Bay Rays
5. Boston Red Sox
3. Detroit Tigers
6. LA Angels
2. Texas Rangers
7. Toronto Blue Jays (81-81)
They aren't going to want to have 2 .500 and below teams in. 2006 NL would have had 80-82 Cincinnati and 79-83 Atlanta in the playoffs.
I can never really see them going past 5 without riots because you'd have to go to 8; a division champion is never going to get shafted and play a 1-game playoff for 6-7 teams. And they aren't going to make the first round 3+ games and have teams sit for a week with a bye.Comment

Brian Cashman tells A-Rod to STFU:
Livid over Alex Rodriguez's decision to tweet an update on his rehab process, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman had a message for the third baseman.
I don't know what he's so riled up about, but it's nice to have some A-Rod drama again besides the PED stuff which bores me.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment
