Yes, seriously.
It's not that I hate all rap and hip-hop music (I don't) but it has no business at all being on the soundtrack of a movie that takes place in 1947. I'd say the same thing if a movie about Ty Cobb was coming out and it had modern, overproduced country music on its soundtrack, too.Comment

Even if it was, however, why does that matter? Would you skip a movie like Gladiator because it has music that wasn't played by harp and lyre? I am looking forward to '42' and don't know if I'll like it or not, but the music won't really be the reason I do or don't."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I don't even care about rap that much and that song isn't very good but I'll admit that seeing it in the trailer pumps me up like crazy.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic 2013
This is first time since 1976 where "This Week in Baseball" won't be airing in back to back years(it took a break in 1999, and was discontinued in 2012)
The show started in 1977.
Why did they even cancel it to begin with? Especially considering that they replaced it with a show that's sorta similar.
They could have just had TWIB with each week focusing on a diff MLB team(so each team in the league gets 1 show focused on them each season). So just air 30 episodes(31 technically since 1 week is for all star week) and that'd have been good enough.Comment

Sad to see it go, but honestly, I haven't watched TWIB since the mid '90s when Mel died. It just hasn't been the same at all."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

TWIB hasn't been the same for years....it was CAN'T miss tv when I was a kid and the only way to see highlights from around the league. Throw in Mel "How about that, folks!" Allen's voice and it was awesome. I recently picked up the 1977 TWIB season off of amazon and hope this means we'll see more seasons released.

If u wanna here some real poetry in music listen to some blues baby it's good for the soul. Some bb king and my favorite band of all time the Allman Brothers. That's poetry, it comes from the heart you can hear it when they sing, feel it when they pluck the strings on their guitar, it takes skill to play and when you know how to, you do it with all your heart and soul and people can hear that.
Now all someone has to do is make a "beat" on the computer and its the next hit song. But to each his own, people will always have different views and outlooks on things. but this whole rap/hiphop/techno and whatever other music is out there today will fade and we will once again have a golden age of music it happens all the time hopefully sooner then later for us.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic 2013
Finally saw knuckleball.
lol, I didn't know which team Wakefield got 200 against, but deep down, I had a feeling it'd have to be against the Blue Jays(since in sports, many players have historical/milestone games against Toronto teams).
Cool to hear bout everything with Wakefield and Dickeys paths in baseball and how much Dickey has learnt about the knuckleball and everything from past guys. And at the end you had Wakefield basically passing the torch to Dickey.
If only that was made a year later, since Dickey won the Cy Young award. Would have been another great chapter to add into that movie.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic 2013
I guess this is the best thread for this but anyways I was watching the Blue Jays Central preseason show and Ken Rosenthal is in Toronto so he was an extensive part of the show. When they started talking about the other teams in the AL East the questioned was asked if the Yankees situation is a quick fix for this season or in the forseeable future and Rosenthal is pretty down on the Evil Empire. He basically thinks the Yanks are going to be in a long period of decline and stated that Robinson Cano is virtually a lock to go to the Dodgers next season which would leave the Yankees with no one in the order playing in their prime.
If you think things are bad now they could be UGLY if Rosenthal is right.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
