Christian Yelich walks it off against Boston with a 2 out 2 run HR, the way he's produced in the minors and so far in ST is showing me this kid could really be something.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

If the Phils don't put Revere in the lead off spot just to keep massaging Rollins' big ego, it will be a colossal mistake. He's a classic lead off guy.

Speaking of the Tigers, they've released Brennan Boesch today. Since it was painfully obvious he was the odd man outCheck out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

Re: 2013 Spring Training Discussion Thread
Anyways back to what I came to the thread for, WOW is Anthony Gose having a helluva spring. The guy also looks a little more muscular than he did last year. (no not in a roids way don't get excited) It's a shame that he's going to automatically go down to Buffalo to start the season but at least he's shown a great attitude about it and says that he wants to prove to the new staff that he can provide a spark for the team.
Gose's time is coming sooner than later, I just hope AA doesn't lose his brains at the trade deadline if the Jays are in it and he gives up on Gose because he's going to be a great speedster in the lineup and eventually the leadoff hitter for this team.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

OUCH! I look forward to listening to the radio broadcast overnight tonight.

AA WON'T give up Gose. Gose was the main guy he wanted in the Halladay deal(and eventually got Gose....basically the second after he got traded from Philly to Houston).
Gose playing in the minors will help him out too. Big reason Jays brought in Raines was to work with guys like Gose(while Gose can steal alot of bases, he's been thrown out too many times. His minor league steal % is like 74% success rate. 74% even in MLB is below average). He's also only slightly above the PCL average in player batting average.
Getting to play in a diff AAA league would help out alot. Cause then there's less stat boosting for hitters, so much easier to tell who is playing good and who isn't. Cause .290 average in AAA might look good, but if you consider he's in PCL, that's only slightly above PCL average.
In the IL, the stats are much more similar to MLB stats in terms of runs per game, batting average, ops and all that. Not saying that batting .300 in IL would mean batting .300 in MLB, but much harder to hit .300 in IL than PCLComment

Re: 2013 Spring Training Discussion Thread
Glad I read this thread. I couldn't believe Toronto had Las Vegas as a AAA-affiliate to begin with. Good to see that is done. the Schmets are stuck with them now.

It's funny because Buffalo was the last AAA affiliate for the Mets. So they basically swapped affiliates.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: 2013 Spring Training Discussion Thread
They have one of their A teams in Vancouver, AA in New Hampshire and now AAA in Buffalo, so would be cool to get a team in Ottawa as well.
Speaking of minor league teams, I think Buffalo has largest stadium in entire IL? Hopefully it gets a good amount of fans, who knows, maybe even some Jays fans might travel down and go to the game since there are abunch of guys who were on MLB team last year(and/or will be on MLB team in future) playing there.Comment
