Molitor and Eck, deserved it but I don't understand how some writers can think a guy doesn't belong one year but then the next year they vote for him, makes me think these guys don't really understand what they are doing.

Still No Sandberg In Hall
I don't get it, one of the top Second basemen of all time and the pinhead baseball writers can't figure out he belongs in the Hall of Fame.

Sandberg will be in next year without a doubt. There are no first time on the ballot threats next year. Now, 2007 will be interesting. Mark McGwire, Tony Gwynn, and Cal Ripken...and I'm forgetting someone else. So, if the in betweeners don't get in by 2007 , there's no way they will recieve the 5 percent they need to stay on the ballot come 2007. -

Boggs is on next year's ballot. So he's the only threat for next year. I made a mistake by saying there is nobody that is a first time threat next year. IMHO, I think Boggs and Sandberg are going to be voted in next year.
On a side note, Joe Carter, Keith Hernandez, Dennis Martinez, and Willie McGee failed to receive 5 percent of the votes this year and are no longer eligible for future ballots.Comment

Re: Still No Sandberg In Hall
I don't think Carter or Hernandez are HOF'ers but I was a little surprised that they didn't get 5%, but only cause some of the guys seem to vote for some guys who they know won't make it but to give them some respect for excellent careers.
Hopefully Sandberg will make it next year, but call me crazy, it seems like if I had a ballot I would just vote for whomever I thought deserved it regardles of whether it was their first year or who else was newly elligible that year, I think the power of electing HOFers goes to some of these writers heads, why did it take Gary Carter so long to get in, he was easily one of the best catchers in baseball for many years, it should have been a no brainer.Comment
