I think so, the only reason he may listen to the Mets is to try to jack up his price, but it may not work as it seems the Mets are not offering that muchComment

Yep all the Mets will end up doing is jack up Vladdie's price but the Mets aren't really offering that much. Man it would be pretty funny and sad at the same time if by spring training Vlad is not signed by a team.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Mets enter the pursuit for Vlad
According to Mets GM Jim Duquette it's all but unlikely that the Mets will make any kind of offer to Guerero, he also said that if they were to make an offer it would be short term, some thing Guerrero is not likely to accept,
he did say that the mets are looking for a RF, but the market is getting thin, most of the Outfielders still available are at best back ups, the team may have to pursue an Outfielder thru trade,
the teams other interset is a 5th starter, a spot likely to be filled with a minor league invite to spring trianing,
the mets apparently do not have enough injury prone broken down players, the team will have scouts at a try out for Scott Erickson, Erickson has missed two of the last three seasons with arm injury's.Comment
