Whats all this talk about 10.5 million a year? They offered him 72 mil over 6 years which is 12 million a year. I think that should be good enough for him. He is primarily an outfielder/first basemen and finding offense at that position isn't as rare as third base or shortstop. I can see him getting as much as 14 a year with incentives but I wouldn't go higher than that. If he starts asking for 15, or 17, then I'd tell him thanks for the memories and good luck with your career elsewhere.

The 10.5 is what he and his agent submitted to the arbitrator. The Cards submitted a bid of 7 mil.

I think 10.5 is more than enough for Pujols. But the problem is the team has so much money invested in players there isn't alot of money to work with. And the team needs to think about the future. I'm guessing Pujols is most likely going to win his case, and that wouldn't be bad, but it wouldn't be all that great. I think the team is investing way too much into hitting and not enough into pitching. Rolen is due his 11 mil over the next 8 years. And the team lost 12 million last year. They just keep adding salary and are hardly subtracting any.

Well, at least next year, the team will be rid of the $7 mil they are paying Tina Martinez to play for the Rays.

morris is making a ton this year.. barring a great year his salary should drop next year... tino's contract will come off the books.. and they will be able to start planning for a larger payroll with the new stadium in however many years it will be.

he deserves big money.he is on my top 5 and manys for best hitters in the league.
1.barry bonds, can't argue with that.he will come close to henry arrons record.
                        2. alex rodrigues, has the biggest contract in the game and clearly the best shortstop to ever play the game.
3.sammy sosa, you can talk about the corked bat incident but i wouldn't he is a terrific ball player and hits 50 + homers a year.
                        4. jason giambi, i am a yankees fan but i would stil pick him to be 4th.40 + homers a year even on terrible seasons and gets a lot of abi's and usually bats over 3.20 except a poor year last year.
                        5. albert pulhoius, he has a amazing on base percentage and hits homers and abi's just a amazing player.
that is my top 5.it was tough to pick so many names missed out like, delgado , soriono( best at his position) vladimir guerero,etc... you can put about 10 -15 other guys in that list of guys who didn't make the cut.who do you think is the top 5 hitters in the game.

I will bet that Morris will not be a Card next year. So with the subtraction of Tino, Morris, and Woody's salaries next year, there should be some money to work with.
