Well dayum, Beckhum does sound like a huge bust. I remember all the pundits saying how great he was going to be, I wonder if Carlos Correa will end up the same way?

Well, given the stellar track record of Tampa's front office when it comes to drafting, I can't really complain too much.

Welp, Jorge Soler apparently charged a dugout with a bat.

Bubba Starling has 15 strikeouts through 32 ABs. I know it's early in his career but I'm honestly starting to get worried.

I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil

Buxton is leading the Midwest League in average, OBP, SLG and OPS (.392/.510/.684/1.194). He has also hit 4 homers and 9 Steals so far. Dude is playing out of his mind.

Meanwhile, in Ft. Myers, Sano is hitting .368/.435/.747/1.183 with 9 homers and 24 RBIs.

So the Twins top prospects are looking pretty solid so far.

Andy Burns, hitting .352. No big deal lol.

                  Re: 2013 Prospects Thread

I know it's nothing major, nor is it a sexy prospect... BUT.

Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett (who I was/am still lukewarm on) is doing what he's always done. Hitting for a nice average at every level. He's solidly average in the field, so he won't hurt us there (plus he would be an upgrade from Rickie Weeks.)

                  2010 (Midwest League [A]): 482 AB hit .309/.354/.463 with 9 home runs, 31 walk and 91 strikeouts
2011 (Florida State League [A]): 556 AB hit .300/.334/.406 with 9 home runs, 27 walks and 69 strikeouts
2012 (Southern League [AA]): 533 AB hit .293/.330/.385 with 5 home runs, 28 walks and 71 strikeouts
2013 (Pacific Coast League [AAA]): 80 AB hitting .388/.417/.450 with 0 home runs, 3 walks and 11 strikeouts.

He obviously won't ever hit 10+ home runs in the majors, but the kid is 5'10'' 157 (according to MiLB.com) and he's average in the speed department as well (career 36 SB, 19 CS). Despite that, he continues to prove everyone that he can hit at every level he's played at, and would slot nicely into our batting order replacing Weeks. Hopefully by the end of the year he will be there.

I don't want my 2B being bad in the field, while only contributing a sub-.250 average and 25 bombs if you're lucky.

Aaron Sanchez kicking *** and taking names in high A. Rocking the 2.31 FIP with a 3.11 K/BB and hasn't given up a homer yet. He may be promoted shortly and I wouldn't be shocked to even see him as a September call-up.

                        3B Nolan Arenado (Rockies).... Wow.

This guy looks really special. He has absolutely lathered the ball every time he hits it. He has gotten robbed a few times on base hits otherwise he would be hitting about .400.

Just hit his 1st career Grand Slam tonight. His defense has been very impressive as well.

Keep an eye on this guy.

Is Arenado still a prospect? Looks like the Rockies have their new every day 3rd baseman. Nelson wasn't a bad 3rd baseman. His hitting was reasonably good and his fielding wasn't that bad either. But Arenado has been impressive. He looks like the real deal.

Kevin Gausman so far at AA Bowie:

                              35.2 IP, 37 H, 19 R, 14 ER, 1 BB, 32 K, 3.53 ERA

Stats are a little inflated because of two bad starts...but I'll take a 32/1 strikeout to walk ratio all day.

Christian Yelich in a AA game tonight went 5-6 1HR 2Triples 2RBIs, seems to have really settled down with the Ks once he got in a rhythm(think he was hurt or something for a little bit) and he's hit in 13 straight.

Can't wait until he gets the call up by the Marlins, has the potential to either be a good leadoff or #3 guy imo.
