rj: No he's not asked to sit around all off-season but he shouldn't be playing a sport in a competitive setting where he could end up getting injured and as another poster mentioned there's a clause in his contract about it.

Actually Cirillo isn't all that far-fetched of an idea. All the Yankees need is somebody capable of playing great defense to hold down the fort. Offense out of the 9 hole for them is just a bonus, their offense is potent enough as it is. And with Boone's contract being voided this year, adding Cirillo really wouldn't be that much extra for them.

I believe they might shy away from Alfonso because he still has 3 years with guaranteed money on his contract. The years, not the money, might turn them away.

Or they can put Sheff back at 3B.

I wonder if they'll try and give Henson a shot, even though he's done nothing to deserve it.

here's something funny - because of Boone's stupidity, he can actually be released by the Yanks - he violated the conditions of his contract & that the Yanks would only have to pay him 1/6 of his salary- saving the Yanks $4 mil.. Boone's really smart.
