Are you talking about the same Seattle Mariners that are a game away from taking second place in the West? Seattle doesn't have the big name stars I'll give you that, but it's not like you are hurting like the Astros or the Angels.

I can understand why you say no AL West teams, but why no NL West teams?

It's the typical Mariner May tease, they'll collapse soon.

Besides, it's not so much the players on the field, but the two d*cks operating the franchise for a non-existent owner. 12 isn't alone in his feelings. Lots of people have written off the M's until they get new owners (the attendance shows).

Whatever you do, go with teams that have great management. Rooting for a team with infuriating management is the worst.

This is the key. 12 isn't trying to find a different team just because the team isn't good. It's because at its core, from the very top of the organization, it's a terribly run franchise that has continuously sh** on fans in Seattle. I can't blame him or anyone else that would want to turn their back on the Mariners, because the Mariners essentially have done the same to the fans.

I'm not exactly one that likes the idea of just changing team allegiance, but I can kind of see where 12 is coming from.

Yeah the losing doesn't bother me as a fan, terrible owners ruining franchise bothers me.

And your team easily has the worst owner in all professional sports. He's ****ed over 2 franchises - the Expos and Marlins

Very similiar to what we've seen and fan reaction here in San Diego. To this day. With new ownership the fans have given them some leeway, but that leash is short, and the TV deal issues still persist amongst others.

I think he true test here, as to what direction it goes in SD, is, do the Padres sign Headley, or do they move him for yet another package of young and undeveloped players? Do they start making a commitment to building a winning club, or do they continue to be a player development farm team for the bigger market clubs?

Yup I still have no idea why i'm still a fan, I guess it's because i'm just used to being loyal to a team. Waiting to see how badly they screw up this inevitable Stanton situation I guess before I stick with them or not.

However if Loria ever sells the team i'll be the happiest fan ever, of course you know maybe besides those taxpayers who got screwed by him.

                      The Twins!

Not a great case to make for them at the moment, although they're starting to maybe not suck after a couple years of ineptitude.

But, I'm a Twins fan, and I'm pretty great. So there's that

I'd stay with the Mariners. I dealt with similar stuff as an Orioles fan...several bust prospects, terrible front office, Angelos not spending money/meddling/nixing trades, but being in Camden Yards last year for the ALDS was one of the most awesome and rewarding experiences ever. Dealing with the losing sucks, but it's worth it once the team gets good. Plus there's Zunino, Walker, Paxton, and Hultzen to look forward to.

^^^This is the best advice anyone can give you.

Born in '81 I spent my childhood going to see awful Phillies teams play in a horrible stadium. When the product on the field was all too boring, I would go to the 700 section of the vet and stare out at the city.

I loved Rocky and the Blue-Collar nature of Philadelphia/Pennsylvania and I stuck through the Von Hayes/Ricky Jordan Phillies, got teased in '93 and had my heart ripped out, and then on along came Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley, Ryan Howard, and Pat Gillick like knights in shining armor.

You don't want to find a new team. You want your team to win. You need to stick with them through the ups and downs.

Agreed with those saying stick with the M's. It'll feel that much better when they finally do start succeeding again (and they will, every team does at some point).

All organizations go through horrible management at some point, then they all get great management at some point. In my mind, part of being a fan is sticking through the hard times because it makes the good times that much sweeter.

Blue Jays. You are essentially South Vancouver. Might as well finally accept your true colors. And they entered the same year! Nice transition.

I used to brag about how Saturdays I could watch four games in one day and often never have any overlap or struggles, because I could see the Red Sox somewhere in the morning at 10:00, the A's or some other Saturday team/game at 1:00, the Braves at their 4:00-ish time slot, and the Giants or some other west coast team at 7:00 at night.

Which reminds me, the Braves get in a lot of night games, and this tends to be a good thing for me. Although I love their Sunday morning affairs, their home games on Saturdays are often played at night, so I can get them at 4:00. That definitely is a perfect time if I have the Giants before them at 1:00 or after them at 7:00. I think that's another good sell-job for me and Atlanta.

Now, if you're on the east coast trying to watch west coast sports teams, I can see where you might have an issue. Otherwise, it's all primetime to me baby.

I'd also argue that everything I've stated in their defense (outside of announcing) makes them a great team to play franchises with on video games.
I'd hate being on the West coast trying to watch East coast teams. You only mentioned the weekend. Sure, it's nice then and for football on Sunday, but every game during the week, unless you have a very flexible job (or no job), you are going to miss half, maybe more, of every evening game. Central and Mountain are king when it comes to time. When I lived in central, I could usually watch all games on weeknights and going to bed around midnight wasn't too bad. Mountain starts to push it with start times being around 5, but again, all games over around 11 or so. You get the advantage 7 days a week, not just 2.
