Re: 5/27 - 6/2 Game Discussion Thread
lol, of all things to curse in the world, someone actually cursed the Jays of all things? Jays have to be the most injured team in baseball history. Every single player on Jays team has been injured at some point since 2012!Comment

O.M.G I just saw the sickest drop on a change-up/split by Robert Coello of the angels. Matt Kemp just froze, and Vin Scully just said "Whoa!"MLB: Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves

And maybe that flight is longer than I thought. Braves must have been jetlagged to get killed like that.Last edited by Redacted01; 05-27-2013, 11:14 PM.Comment

Re: 5/27 - 6/2 Game Discussion Thread
Jays get Monday off, face Giants Tuesday/Wednesday, then get Thursday off...Later on in the season the EXACT same thing happens again(except this time, the games are in San Fransisco)
Interleague schedule needs to be fixed. Jays face some teams home and away for interleague, face some teams only at home, and then some only on the road. I'm sure it's the same for all other teams too.
They should just have division vs division in home and homes each year.
EX: (for the AL East)
2014- AL East teams face NL East teams in home and home(3 games x 5 teams x 2 series = 30 interleague games)
2015- AL East teams face NL Central teams in home and home(3 games x 5 teams x 2 series = 30 interleague games)
2016- AL East teams face NL West teams in home and home(3 games x 5 teams x 2 series = 30 interleague games)
2017-AL East teams face NL East teams in home and home(3 games x 5 teams x 2 series = 30 interleague games)
and so on..Comment

Re: 5/27 - 6/2 Game Discussion Thread
I'm predicting a bench clearing brawl tomorrow in Jays-Braves game. Something happened today that could lead to it...
Game was 9-1, Gattis hit a 2 run home run, and once he passed by home plate, he said something to Jays catcher. Then once the inning was done, the Jays dugout found out from JP(their catcher) what he said, and then both benches started gesturing to each other from their dugouts. Bonifacio was doing the crazy gesture towards the Braves dugout, and a few other Jays players were "death staring" right at the Braves dugout.Comment

Re: 5/27 - 6/2 Game Discussion Thread
You will never see 30 interleague games because it kills "rivalries" like NY vs. NY and Chicago vs. Chicago that aren't going anywhere, but let's entertain it.
Schedule automatically has 72 division games, minimum (and they need to go back to the 6*3 series, quit with some of the screwy 19 game schedules between teams). With your 30 interleague, that leaves 60 games for the other teams in your actual league. You mean... *gasp*, we'd have a nearly balanced schedule!!! Home-and-home with every other team in your league. Not quite the schedule from the early 90's where you played everyone almost equally, but not bad either. Very similar to the NFL format I've enjoyed since 2002.
I can't believe they haven't thought of it... oh wait, they have, but because it would eliminate their precious city rivalry games and things like Cincinnati vs. Cleveland and Miami vs. Tampa, no way it'll happen.
The other problem with that is that it is 54 3-game series which means the schedule takes 27 weeks to play + all-star break. Starting the last Sunday in March, schedule would run into October.Last edited by Redacted01; 05-27-2013, 11:55 PM.Comment

Looks like this could be a long game. Already 4-3 Toronto in the 1st, still only 1 out.Last edited by Redacted01; 05-28-2013, 12:02 PM.Comment

Re: 5/27 - 6/2 Game Discussion Thread
^Allowing 3 runs in the 1st.....(sure,2 were errors, but still...allowing runs in the 1st to begin with is a HUGE problem for Jays all season long).
It's not like they got unproven pitchers to join their team, they got established guys, all of which are doing bad this season. Something is up with the Jays off the field that nobody knows about. Pete Walker possibly?
He was their bullpen coach in 2012, a bullpen which was known for blowing games(their 2013 bullpen has been much better now that he's not bullpen coach....). Now as main pitching coach, problem seems to have moved on to the starters.Comment

Re: 5/27 - 6/2 Game Discussion Thread
You said in your post why it probably ISN'T Pete Walker; they are established pitchers. Good pitchers don't just suddenly fall off because of a different coach. They know how to pitch. As for the bullpen, a lot of the bad pitchers from last year are gone (Cordero, Frasor come to mind). It stands to reason when you get rid of the bad, you are going to improve.Comment
