Re: 6/3 - 6/9 Game Discussion Thread
So I swear, Justin Upton has got to drive so many fans, managers, coaches, etc. crazy.
Guy was a beast in April, then has followed that up with an extremely opposite May/June so far.
Shows how the fans just remember his crazy April in the All Star voting, as he leads all OFers at the moment.
Also, I can't believe Dominic Brown didn't walk a single time in May.7 National Championships

Speaking of Domonic Brown, he just hit his 18th home run of the year! 2-run bomb. Phils up 6-1 on the Fish.Comment

The past few have been at CBP on the current 6 game homestand. He started smoking the ball last week when the Phillies were in Fenway Park.Comment

Either way, happy to see the guy producing and living up to the hype that was surrounding him a couple years back. I wish him the best. Just not against the Bravos.YNWAComment

I can't figure out what is more stunning, his recent surge in power, or that he didn't walk in May. Just seems crazy...

One thing that has definitely helped him is finally getting rid of that looooonnng swing he had before. Has shortened his swing up big time. For a guy that sees so many pitches when he is at the plate, it was very weird not seeing him walk in May.Comment

I think there was a discussion around here within the past couple of years regarding relative sizes of parks and that CBP falls somewhere in the middle of the pack. Could be wrong though.Comment

Re: 6/3 - 6/9 Game Discussion Thread
Doug Fister and Alex Cobb are in straight up pitcher's duel mode tonight in Detroit.
Fister: 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K, 72 pitches thrown, 48 for strikes.
Cobb: 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 7 K, 92 pitches thrown, 65 for strikes.
It's a 0-0 tie heading into the 8th and both pitchers have only given up one extra base hit.
Great game so far...Comment

Re: 6/3 - 6/9 Game Discussion Thread
Fister just got through the 8th unscathed, even though he issued a two-out walk to Jose Lobaton.
He's now:
Fister: 8 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K, 92 pitches thrown, 59 for strikes.
Hopefully Cobb can get through the 8th relatively fast.Comment

Re: 6/3 - 6/9 Game Discussion Thread
Cobb's pitch count got the best of him as he was just pulled with two outs in the seventh.
He finished with this line:
Cobb: 7.2 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 3 BB*, 7 K, 108 pitches thrown, 72 for strikes.
* = 2 of his 3 BB were intentional. Both were to Miguel Cabrera.
Joel Peralta comes in now to try and get Prince Fielder out to keep this scoreless game going.
EDIT- And Peralta strikes out Fielder to keep this game scoreless heading into the 9th. What a battle!Last edited by 55; 06-05-2013, 08:19 PM.Comment
