            You must be talking about "The Babe" when John Goodman plays Babe Ruth. That's one of my favorite baseball movies.

                  Much like Ruth pointing to centerfield.

                  Baseball wants to hold onto legend because it feels special, but I truly don't believe the Babe was pointing to where he was going to hit the ball. It was blown way out of proportion, much like this infield homerun.
