    Re: 6/17 - 6/23 Game Discussion Thread

I doubt anything happens. It's between O'Day and Bautista. The O's broadcast tried to make it seem like O'Day was an angel or something and never said a thing this whole series... they are starting to move up there in homerism the more I've watched them this year, even if Bordick is a former Blue Jay.

And like I said in the Blue Jays thread, a 2-2 split for Tampa/NY is best for us. Let's us make up ground on everyone no matter what.

Teams only lost or gained half a game on AL WC since Rangers went from 2nd WC spot to 1st and O's from 1st to 2nd.

Worst scenario at this point more than likely is that Reyes returns to a .500 Jays team.

O's fans on ESPN are annoying. They're bashing the Jays and Toronto and stating Toronto has bandwagon fans......

If Toronto made playoffs for past several years then the one year they didn't, nobody goes to games, I could understand that argument, but for a team who hasn't made playoffs in 20 years, trying to state that fans of that city are bandwagon fans(when Toronto has more Jays fans now than last time they made playoffs...) is just stupid.

Even stupider saying umpires were calling things against the O's. I guess they didn't watch 1st inning when a ball was inside and they called strike 3 on Bautista(overhead camera view showed that the ball didn't even touch the inside of the plate)

I'm so confused as to what just happened in SF. Ball bounced into the seats, but they called fan interference(can't tell no video on the fans because it bounced really high up in CF area). However they make the inference that Zito was going to score but keep Blanco at 2nd.

15 innings against the highest ERA in the NL...0 runs for the Braves. So hot/cold this team.

And here comes the Phillies bullpen to load the bases with nobody out and possibly blow a 7-1 lead. A run has already scored in the inning to make it 7-2. It's beyond tiring now.

Make that 7-4 now with still nobody out. This crap is ridiculous.

Just want to comment on this but that's a complete misreading of the Toronto fanbase. There's a solid 14-18,000 fanbase for this team AND that fanbase trends to a younger demographic. There's about another 15K who have been fans for years but have grown dissatisfied with the way the organization has been run the last 20 years who are now coming back because they see ownership making a run for it. If anything, the Toronto fanbase is pretty loyal to the team.

Besides how can we be bandwagoners if just a few years ago we were hoping for playoffs when BJ Ryan, AJ Burnett and Frank Thomas was in town. This isn't a situation where it's a bunch of unwashed baseball neophytes are suddenly coming to the ballpark.

That's the point I'm making, is that Toronto ISN'T bandwagon city. How can someone call Toronto a bandwagon city when fans have been loyal for all these years to a team that hasn't actually made playoffs in 20 years.

Bandwagon isn't the right word, though there were some bandwagoners.

Its more about the fact that all people heard in the off season is the Jays fans saying how good they were going to be, yadda yadda yadda.

                          AHHHHHHHH!!

Papelbon blows his 3rd save of the year and 3rd on this damn homestand. A 7-1 lead erased. Unbelievable. God, I can't stand it anymore.

I will always be a Phillies fan first and foremost no matter what, but I also really enjoy the Rays too. Rays haven't been so hot the past few games either.
