Jose Bautista is the only guy the last 5 seasons to break 50 home runs and league leaders have been hovering closer to 40-45 for the most part. Chris Davis has a nice start and a chance at 50. Does it last, or does he fizzle?

Tigers lose 2 straight vs O's! They should've won the series!

And sucks that Yankees beating Dodgers now.

The former I did not wish to see. The latter I expected.

          lol, sounds like boring game.

          Miami-Arizona in the 7th, a combined 5 hits,1 walk, 0 runs and 10 strikeouts.

If only Jays could go on winning streaks like this multiple times a year. This is only the 2nd 7+ game win streak Jays have had in past decade or so. In order to be playoff team, they really need to string together multiple big win streaks.

Cecil faced 38 batters now without giving up a single hit!

Jays currently streakiest team in baseball right now. 8 straight wins, the next highest streak(wins or losses) is 3 losses by the Rockies. Every other team in the MLB right now either has 1-2 wins or losses streak.

I'd argue Scherzer and Anibal Sanchez have been a better duo. JV is kinda bleh so far.

Longest win streaks the past 10 seasons, let's just avoid looking at losses...

                        2012 - 4
                        2011 - 6
                        2010 - 6
                        2009 - 6
2008 - 10 (couple of 5's were the next longest)
                        2007 - 5
                        2006 - 5
                        2005 - 4
                        2004 - 6
                        2003 - 6

Long winning streaks aren't mandatory either though. The Giants never won more than 6 in a row last year and it worked out for them. Washington had the most wins in the league and it's longest was 8; next longest was 6, twice. Losing streaks is what we want to avoid. You may only win 3 or 4 games at a time, but if you only lose one or two at a time, you'll easily be over .500.

Really? He used to be a beast until he had those concussion issues. Damn shame.
