Arguably, but the last time an Eastern team won was in 1998, and that was thanks to the great Micheal Jordan. That's 6 years ago today. As NBA stands now, no East team has a chance at the title. The West is so much superior to the East, it's not a joke. You guys in the small market have a better chance at a title then I do in a big maket. Which also leads me to my next point - This thread is idiotic. By the logic shared by this "baseball" fan, much less a "diehard baseball fan" , I can just as easily create a thread in the NBA forum announcing that I'm going to stop watching NBA because my eastern team, nor any other team in the East, doesn't have a lick of chance to beat a team out from the west, but nah, I'm more of a fan that that.

I agree and disagree all at the same time.

Yes, the East doesn't have much of a chance, and haven't had much of a chance the last few years. BUT, it's not because they don't have the financial ability to compete, they have just plain done a worse job of managing their teams. The west has more talent and has better teams, it will eventually swing the other way.

I agree with the part about the logic of the thread. Being a Twins fan can be tough at times watching the Spankies get whoever they want, but I'm not going to quit watching baseball.

Exactly, it's all matter of talent. But hey, my Knicks team can be 50 mill over the CAP, and still not be in the playoffs. Seems like that won't be the case now, I just hope.

Exactly. It's not because the teams in the East have less financial ablility, it's because they've done such a poor job with talent. Not to mention they have done a much poorer job managing the cap, allowing them less flexibility to make moves. In the NBA all teams are more or less on an even playing field, they Eastern Conference teams have just been inept at managing their resources.
