I thought this thread was going to be about how the salary cap is too restrictive on teams who are willing to spend money to the point that seeing this constant turnover is becoming boring. People like excellence (tempered by moderation which is what does not exist in baseball) and in the NFL that is not what you are getting now. This is probably the first time since Ive been watching football where current teams are obviously not as good as they were ten years ago. Low hanging fruit (it gets increasingly more difficult to improve) might be part of it but teams now are not good at all facets as they were required to be 10 years ago. NE is a perfect example. They averaged 3 YPC!!! Yeah they had a good defense but it wasnt exactly the 85 Bears or the 2000 Ravens. Football has fallen into mediocrity. On the other hand baseball has gone too far in the other direction where its closer to professional wrestling than competitive sports. When watching the Yankees play small market teams is like watching the Globetrotters play the Washington generals, something is wrong. The NFL needs to be more like MLB and the MLB needs to be more like the NFL.
At least its not the NFL
