I don't know how much longer the Braves can keep running BJ Upton out there...he's killing us.

Very true, but I have a different feeling than in 2011. Back then, I knew they were going to falter a bit. Their pitching started going downhill in July.

The Red Sox went 20-6 and were actually just fine in July, actually one of their better months of the season, possibly the best. They were fine the entire year until September with pitching.

        March/April - 4.24 ERA, 4.30 FIP, 2.8 WAR
        May - 4.01 ERA, 3.87 FIP, 4.3 WAR
        June - 3.58 ERA, 4.06 FIP, 3.4 WAR
        July - 3.70 ERA, 3.71 FIP, 4.3 WAR
        August - 3.82 ERA, 3.73 FIP, 4.4 WAR
        September/October - 5.84 ERA, 4.68 FIP, 1.7 WAR

There was nothing in July that would have told you they were going to implode like they did in September.

You gotta like the Phils announcers defending ATL C Laird on a poor called 3rd strike which Laird argued and rightly so.... however, they are correct in their assessment that Laird needs to keep his head there and stay in the game to give his primary C a rest.

Just came to post the same thing. Laird took that way too far. One thing you can always say about the Phillies announcers is that they are always fair when it comes to the other teams.

That was an awful call though...plus the one on Simmons to start the game. I was happy Laird got tossed though...would rather have Mac out there. He's had plenty of rest so far this year.

I definitely agree it was a horrible call. Just saying Laird blew his top. Probably won't be the only bad call Angel Hernandez makes in this series either.

When he's on there's no pitcher that's more fun to watch than Lee.

What is up with the White Sox, they're putting up less of a fight than the Astros. 7-0 in the bottom of the 4th.

Crap. Lee looks ill right now.

Edit: It seems like McCann get's 10 hits every series against the Phillies.

I'm not sure as a closer how you concentrate with that staring back at you:

Juan Uribe has 5 RBIs and its only the third inning.

7 RBIs for Uribe, a single short of the cycle
