Yeah but it didn't really count as a no-hitter since it didn't come against the AL East.

Giancarlo throws Werth out at 2nd from his knees then same inning throws out Desmond at home. Not bad at all

I hope the media doesn't start whispering "maybe he's on PEDs" as this is a really good story IMO. Hopefully it isn't the case and also no matter the reason for his ungodly HR power this year this isn't a one off.

The power's always been there, though.

                  Low-A: 69 G, 15 HR
                  High-A: 99 G, 24 HR
                  AA: 78 G, 25 HR
                  AAA: 226 G, 54 HR
                  TEX: 266 G, 42 HR

And he hit 33 last year. It's obvious that he's just become a better hitter. He already has more walks (38) this year than he did last year (37) and more doubles than he had last year (26 this year, 20 last year). It's not like he's a Luis Gonzalez or Brady Anderson type that randomly started cranking out home runs.

This is totally off topic but there is a guy that works at my local Panera Bread that could be Chris Davis' twin. The resemblance is unreal.

For Crush, I just like watching the highlights on MLB.com. He makes it look so easy, and Gary Thorne's HR calls are just epic.

Is BJ Upton the worst signing of the offseason?

The local Rays station was comparing BJ and DJ and mocking the Rays fans who were so afraid of losing BJ's "power." BJ is now getting paid 75 million, DJ is getting paid not even 750 grand and is better than him in almost every statistical way.

The more walks are caused by the more home runs. After all, he has already hit more home runs than he did in 139 games last year.

Also those 33 last year came at a rate of 17 PA/HR. His career numbers before this season was 21 PA/HR. This year? 9.3 PA/HR. People talked about Jose Bautista when he went from 22 PA/HR in 2006-2008, then started showing a lot of power in late 2009 and was at a rate of 10.5 PA/HR in 2010-2011.

You mentioned Gonzalez and Anderson, but who you really should have mentioned is Bonds. Know what Barry Bonds' rates were in 2001? 9.1 PA/HR. And he didn't have near the jump from prior years (closer to 12-16 PA/HR) that Chris Davis has had because he happened to always have some power as well; he just got a heckuva lot more of it in 2001.

I'm not saying he is taking anything, but you can't say "the power has always been there" either. Some power, yes, but not at this rate.

His HR/FB% coming into this season was over 20%, a figure that would border (or be in) the top 10 most years.

That's waaaaaaaaaaaay beyond having "some" power.
