The Yankees also didn't "rob" the A's in my eyes. The were trying to improve a team that had a hole at first base after Tino left.

I wonder if this is the way most coorporations refer to their strongest employees who grow older and therefore 'obsolete'-- that they left. Tino did a lot of great things for the Yanks but when the Yanks saw a chance to over-pay Giambi and weaken the A's they didn't offer Tino a contract. You're right, business. But to say he simply left is kidding yourself. To say he left a hole is an incredible leap of rationalization. I guess that in order to love the Yanks and the 'product' they put out on the field takes a considerable ammount of that skill.
And Nick Johnson was waiting in the wings-- a perfectly suitable and system grown replacement for Tino. He could've and should've played first. But the yanks had to win immediately. The point is the Yanks didn't need Giambi as much as they needed the A's not having him.

For the comment that the Yankees represent whats unfair about life, you're 100% correct. But when I olook at Justin Timberlake riding around in limos with $100 million mansions, I see that life is unfair also. But thats what it is, life.

Re: Yankees vs. Redsox, time to put this to an end
I actually don't hate the Yankees as much as others might...Yes, they play in the same division as the Jays, but like someone said, the Yankees didn't cheat to have the team they have. As for the Red Sox, they did pretty well for themselves too by getting Schilling and Foulke to fill some big needs. I just thought it was hilarious that John Henry wanted a salary cap and publicized that after A-Rod was traded...to which I laughed since Boston could have had A-Rod if they ponied up the dough and NY had a better and cheaper player to offer Texas.
The Yanks have lots of cash, plain and simple...and they will continue to be the big spenders...Doesn't guarantee titles thoughComment
