I think that's the best advice so far, Just enjoy the game, and all the young players trickling in. You don't have to have a favorite team, or one team to follow.

I do that with the NBA, it's the only sport I don't have a favorite team, and it's actually enjoyable for a change.

Your location makes it seem like you're from Vegas. You could go watch 51s games and follow their players to the Mets.

Here's an old article from The Score about a former Yankees fan who decided to cheer for a new team. (Warning: as per usual with the Score, some NSFW language may be sprinkled in here and there)

I think you should do something like that, process of elimination based on important criteria.

That was an interesting read. He had some strange reasoning though, I've never heard of anyone that felt that way about the playoffs. His reasons for abandoning the Yankees really made no sense to me. But if he's happy with the Mariners then more power to him, I guess.

If I wasn't a Yankees fan, I would pick the Orioles, or Reds. The Reds being my national league favorite for years. I grew up close to Cincy just across the Ohio River in Kentucky, and I have a special place in my heart for that team.

They are a hell of alot better then they used to be now. I grew up watching Griffey Jr, Larkin, Casey, Dunn, Dmitri Young, they always had hitting and big sluggers, but never any pitching.

That's changed now, with Cueto, Latos, Bailey, Leake, Chapman etc.. I can't remember the Reds pitching being any better. Then of course you have one of the best players in the League in Votto, followed by: Bruce, Phillips, and Choo.

You also have the luxury of watching them in one of baseball's nicest ballparks, and arguably the best division in baseball right now. With the Cardinals and the up and coming Pirates. The Reds are a good pick.

I could sell you on the Orioles too, My second favorite team in the AL. They have an awesome ballpark in Camden Yards. Truly one of MLB's best ballparks. Just an awesome place. The young talent is enticing: Jones, Machado, Wieters, Crush Davis. and one of my personal favorite players Nick Markakis. The pitching is so-so but it's not dreadful. Baltimore is on the up and up, and I'm sure it's fun to be a Baltimore fan right now.

          Just my personal picks.

As others have said, you could base it on where you live. You can't go wrong with the Rays though. Have been a very good team since 2008. Great organization. Team is a winner and knows how to have fun. They don't draw down there at Tropicana Field, but that's because most of the fans down there are either blind or Yankees fans. I will always be a Phillies fan first, but the Rays are my other favorite.

You could also just watch games of all the teams throughout the rest of the season and see who sticks out to you.

Y'know, you could actually give the Astros a shot. Sure, they suck now, but they have a brilliant GM, and upcomers like Singleton, Springer, Correa, DeShields Jr., Folty, Cosart, McCullers, Appel, et al.
