I'm with you man. I love the NL rules of not having a DH. Adds so much more strategy to the game. Not to say I don't like the AL style.. I just like the NL more.

You know peeps, just because a league has a designated hitter rule doesn't mean that they have to use it. If National League teams would feel so inclined, they could have the pitcher hit.

But that's boring, and that's why when given the option teams go for the DH.

Sure they don't have to use it lol. But obviously they would.

It's not boring, that's in the eye of the beholder. I find the DH boring and a drawback to games. It's why I'll watch any NL game before any AL game.

I'm not sure if what you stated is true or not, but what I was once surprised to find out is that the DH must be in place for the pitcher.

That's just kind of strange to me as a softball coach for ten years being able to choose the DP (designated player) for any position on the field.

Can you actually show me where DH is an option? Because if I'm a team with a sub-par, injured, or fielding-capable DH and hosted against a team like the Red Sox, I'd say screw the DH for that series. Never once seen this in my life.

In the AL you are allowed to let the pitcher hit instead of using the DH.

I once saw the Indians do it with Charles Nagy. I was at the game.

I see. At first I thought the home team chose for both teams whether or not they wanted to use the DH.

Lost 4-3 though. Looks like Cleveland should've used the DH.

I agree wholeheartedly that the next ten years are going to be great for all of baseball. Other than my Cubs (they'll find a way to screw up, I'm sure).
