Longoria hit the restaurant in left field at the Rogers Centre tonight. Bautista is the only other guy I have seen do that before.

Re: 7/19 - 7/28 Game Discussion Thread
Mariners actually showing some offensive output in July with their youngsters. And Justin Smoak is somehow looking like somewhat of a major league player? What the hell is happening?Comment

Small sample size but I definitely think he is starting to figure things out.Comment

I'll obviously remain pessimistic until he puts it together for an extended period of time, but it sure is nice seeing him have SOME success, even in a small sample size.Comment

"sigh"
After a pretty good start to the game the Jays just had to let the Rays creep their way back and beat them.

Re: 7/19 - 7/28 Game Discussion Thread
I am so tired of Tom McCarthy screwing up names while he's broadcasting. I mean the other day he called Cliff Lee, Carlos Lee. Cliff Lee. A White guy who has been in Philly for several seasons....versus Carlos Lee, not a White guy, who has never been in Philly other than for a series here and there.
Today, after Mets pitcher Wheeler recorded another strike out, he said "5th strike out today for Recker". Recker is the catcher. And he knows he's the catcher because just on the previous pitch he had to chase a ball down that got away from him a little bit. Such a goober.
I think he should be forced to listen to his own broadcast, twice, after each game. Stick McCarthy and Gary Matthews on the radio and bring Franzke and Larry Anderson over to TV. Anderson is at least entertaining.Last edited by daflyboys; 07-20-2013, 01:36 PM.Comment

Re: 7/19 - 7/28 Game Discussion Thread
Bases loaded,0 outs
If it were any MLB team from the Red Sox to Astros.....They'd score at least 1 run
If it's the Jays...The other team doesn't need infielders or outfield, the pitcher/catcher get the next 3 batters out with strikeouts/popup to homeplate.Comment

Re: 7/19 - 7/28 Game Discussion Thread
JP's AB was particularly frustrating because they knew that JP ALWAYS chases the 1st pitch FB with runners on so they threw him something else and he whiffed on it. I was thinking along with Peralta and KNEW he was going to bury the ball into the dirt and had a BAD feeling that JP would swing through it which he did.
