    Serious Question pertaining to steroids.

Why not move the fences back? Besides major costs and renovations, why not do it? If guys wanna juice, let them. Wouldn't that balance it all out?

Why should non-juicing players be forced to take something potentially harmful?

Because the rules of baseball do not supersede the laws of our nation.

I really think people tend to forget that.

There's harm in steroids. They're trying to help balance everything so that people aren't potentially hurting themselves just to be on the same playing field as those taking steroids.

And better yet, why should fences be moved back? Does taking steroids automatically mean hitting more home runs? What about the pitchers who take them? And who cares if they hit more home runs; it's still an even playing field on both sides. Same reason why I don't get they tamper with the balls in Colorado. The fences are deep enough as is (and you're seeing the inflated OPS numbers because of that as well).

I know pitchers juice too, but they might as well too, to even the balance.

True, but isn't the big issue the Homerun records being tainted, I don't hear anything about the doubles record being tainted.

Nobody is forcing anything I am not in favor of drugs, but players are gonna take them anyway.

Like I said, I am not in favor of drugs, but players are gonna get a competitive edge no matter what, and in our era of scientific advances, there will be something else coming out, This is the world we live in now.

I understand that, but laws are always gonna be broken, I'm not implying the MLB to just hand the players syringes and tell them do whatever, there will always be drugs, and that's just the way it is, and they can't test for everything.

Basically, this is going to encourage everyone to use steroids which there are numerous reasons why that would be a bad idea.

Because the non-users would be left without jobs, which would lead them to use.

It's gonna happen anyway, it already has. The Larry Bigbie's and Melky Cabrera's of the world is a prime example.

There is always going to be some that try to do it, but if steroids were "legalized" in baseball, it would cause much more usage.

No, you misunderstood me, I DO NOT LIKE DRUGS, I am not in favor of steroids. But I know there will always be somebody trying to cheat the system and they will succeed.

I didn't say you liked drugs lol and I agree that there will always be someone trying to cheat the system.. but if there is no punishment for juicing, then that is going to open the door for a lot more people using steroids.

I think their should be punishment. I am not a fan of these guys cheating, sitting there asking for the public to believe in them, and then lie straight to their face.

But I do believe there is alot of hyprocrisy surrounding this too, and that in a way performance enhancing drugs are a scientific addition to the game, it was the steroid era, and there was alot going on behind the scenes, Selig was not in the dark, and neither were team owners. He did nothing then to stop it.

Cheating has always been prevalent in baseball. From spitballs, to scuffing of the ball, to steroids. The records are not as sacred as people think.
