Canseco's trying to get to 500 HR and thinking that would get him to the HOF. With the way the game is changing i'm not so sure 500 HR is enough to get you in the Hall anymore.

No, if he doesn't get in it'll be because of his off-field antics.

I don't think it will matter if he hits 500 Home Runs or 5000, i think because of his off the field antics, and willingness to sell out other players, he will not be voted into the Hall of Fame.

I think there is a decent chance of him going into the HOF. Just for his statistics and the impact he had with the A's. But that's a very very slim chance.

How many teams did those "great" A's teams win? Exactly. He was a great slugger for a too brief period 86-91 or so. His '88 season was tremendous, but he was not a dominant player for a significant period of time, and that will keep him out. He can keep Fred McGriff company.

Jose Canseco had his tryout with the Dodgers today, but was said to be less than impressive, Canseco went 2-6 in the game between players trying to get signed, 108 players total showed up for the tryout, it was said that Canseco's timing seemed off and he did not look comfortable, "it's a shock to me to see him here for a tryout" said Tommy Lasorda, Dodgers senior Vice President, Canseco was told that there was a 99% chance that he would not be signed, Canseco played 1B in the intrasquad game, a position he had never played before, Canseco told reporters that this was probably going to be his last try at a return to Baseball, saying "see you in the movies", Canseco is believed to have hollywood contacts, Canseco believes that he has been black balled by Major League Baseball, after admiting to using steroids during his playing days, he also said he would drop names of other players who have used in his tell-all book,
Canseco's book "Dare to Truth" is scheduled for a September release.
