Probably because a while back when Roger played with Boston, Sports Illustrated ran threw his workout routine. It was incredible how many times/day he worked out and how difficult it was. Even 2 weeks ago SI ran an article about Pettite and Clemens working out and how Clemens is part of the reason for Pettite's success.

Also pitchers need to be limber. A bulky pitcher isn't going to be fluid while throwing and could possibly lose MPH because of this. Granted stronger legs would be a plus though.

No one here knows who is taking and who isn't and it has nothing to do with Barry being an ***. Remember the Clemens/Piazza incident with Clemens throwing the broken bat at Piazza? If you do you'd know the media doesn't like Clemens either. He pretty much got slammed for what he did (and rightfully so).

If you've ever played baseball and ever pitched, you'd soon realize that muscle mass does not help a pitcher in the same way as it helps a batter. Throwing a baseball is a completely unnatural motion and puts a ton of stress on one's arm. Taking steroids would weaken the ligaments in a pitchers arm. Weak ligaments cause torn rotator cuffs or torn elbow ligaments (result = TJ surgery).

If your career is your arm, why would you chance this? It just doesn't make sense IMO. I can see a Pitcher taking 'roids to get stronger legs which would result in more MPH and stamina, but at the same time that pitcher would be weakening the ligaments in his arm - which is his bread and butter.

Also injuries are often associated with 'roids. If people are so sure Clemens took them, then why has he been able to pitch for so long without ever running into a major injury? Heck, he rarely ever misses games for minor pulls/strains from what I can remember. It doesn't add up IMO.

Clemens comparisions from over the years, for those interested.

            Clemens in Boston

            Clemens in Toronto

            Clemens in New York

I'd think it's pretty obvious that he's gonna alot bigger over his career. No one will ever accuse him of using steroids tho, because of how he works his *** off to get into shape. Isn't it possible that maybe Bonds has worked his *** off to get where he is today?

Except Clemens Head hasn't grown substantially like Bonds has, it may have gotten a little sag in it, like all mens faces get when they are 40, but not like Bond's head which has literraly gotten inflated...as it were...

So I'm guessing the new report that came out that Anderson's lawyers are saying Bonds was offered something along the line of steroids, but rejected them, means nothing to you guys?

Honestly, no. Lawyers aren't known to be the most honest people.

Think about it though. These lawyers are representing a guy who sold people steorids/illegal drugs. Their job is to prove that this guy sold these drugs to as few people as possible (which will result in a lesser sentence for their client). These lawyers are getting paid good money to get their client off with as little damage as possible and they'll go to any measure to obtain that.

It's also possible Bond's got steroids from someone else or that he was off the stuff by the time this trainer asked him or that he never used and this is just a strange occurence. There's just too many variables here to just assume that what these lawyers said equates to Bonds never using 'roids.
