Although I agree with you about Pohlad, I hate it when people change their favorite teams. Yes, Pohlad is a tight *** owner. Yes, the Twins lost key players this offseason because of it. But should a fan change his or her favorite team because of the owner? I don't think so.

Anyone who claims to be a fan of one team and changes his favorite team to a division rival wasn't a true fan in the first place. A true fan can call out his team for questionable moves. A true fan can hate his favorite team's owner for being a tight *** who refuses to spend money. But a true fan always knows where his loyalties lie and doesn't claim to be a fan of a division rival because of how his team looks on paper.

I personally have been a Twins fan since I was young and will remain one for the rest of my life. As a lifelong Twins fan, I think I speak for Twins fans in the upper midwest and around the world when I say good ridance. You weren't a fan in the first place.

Re: A sad day for a former Twins fan.

the point of this post was that for twins fans its not gonna change with polad. i have spent so much money on the twins its a joke! i have attended 40+ home games the last 7 years. i have sat threw the horrid times. i was so excited for last years playoffs, its not that i thought we were going to beat the yanks but i expected a good hard faught series. Guess what happend the Twins weak hitting was exposed and we lost, so what does a good GM and or owner do when you have just been eliminated from the playoffs. you go and fill your weak holes in the off season right? wrong instead you get rid of Milton,A.J.,hocking,Reed,Rogers,hawkins, Eddie G. so i understand we couldnt have signed all of them but if you all those players you need to go get people to fill the void right? you tell me that the twins are making every effort to win. give me examples.... its always been this way. when the payrolls were normal we were able to win but now its a joke and all Polad can say is I need a new stadium,we have to lower payroll, why, why do you have to lower the payroll oh thats right you dont have to you want to. Just be hones thats all i want Pohlad is a Billionare so dont ever use that excuse that you cant afford it.
and then the final straw for me was this Victory Sports Channel. no thanks to the Twins no games will be on T.V. in the minneapolis area.
Now tell me that your not a bit frustrated with the effort the twins put into this offseason.

as for me changing my mind if the twins do good this year nope! the Twins will do well this year because the Divsion is terrible.

P.S. i am not abandoning The Twins I just was pushed over the edge when Comcast told me that they would not be caring Victory Sports this year. If my Dream ever comes true that pohlad will acctually sell the team then maybe the Twins can get back to Winning World Series. I mean if we would have ad 1 or 2 more hitters my god we may have one back to back titles! I do apoligize for upsetting anyone.

I had absolutely no problem with your first post up until I read this part. As a Twins fan you have every right to complain about how things are done. I even agree with most of what you wrote, but the fact that you're saying you're now a Tribe fan discounts everything you wrote. I don't care how many games you've been to, but the moment you say you're a fan of a division rival I'm not buying anything you're saying about how great of a Twins fan you say you are...or were. At any rate, I hope you enjoy your new life as an Indians fan...until you decide to become a White Sox fan.

Way to stick it out man, you should be real proud of yourself. I've been a Padre fan since I was old enough to know what baseball was, and I have seen some rather lean years, but have never even considered dumping them. Nut up and support your team for God sake.

Well at least he still cares about baseball. There are loads of people who have simply turned off on baseball because of its ineptitudes culminating with 1994. So there is a larger picture than simply being loyal to your team. Besides, who is the ex-Twins fan obligated to? Isnt this a two way street? Shouldnt Pohlad have to earn fan support instead of whine and cry? It gets even more dubious where Pohlad is concerned regarding the proposed contraction a couple of years ago. Why is it that owners buy sports franchises with the idea in mind that it is another business? If you have the money to buy a team to begin with it should be a passionate pursuit and not a proprietary one. Also, I wouldnt vote for a new stadium if I were in Minnesota until Pohlad sold the team. Just look at Milwaukee to see an example of how devoted the owners are to putting the money back in the team once they have a new stadium.
