And by the way, two teams from the same division cannot play eachother in the first round of the playoffs. Let's say the A's win the AL West and finish with the best record in the American League. They will end up playing the Twins in the first round instead of the wild card team (Angels if A's win the west). Usually the team with the best record gets to play the wild card winner, but not if they are in the same division.

Therefore, if the Mariners were somehow able to qualify for the playoffs, they would not face the A's anyway, unless they met in the AL Championship round.

IGNORANT baseball fan looking at a team he knows NOTHING(obviously). Hmm the mariners stayed in first place all of the first half and him but now because they fall out of first place there just a average baseball team nice assesment you show about as much knowledge as peter gammons. Hmmmm lets see, Ichiro was hitting like last year first half and freddy pitching like last year in the first half, hmmmmm and guess what we were 3 games up.....now ichiro hitting like brinan L hunter, and Freddy pitching like a number 3 guy....It doesn't take a frickin genious to figure out when your 2 SUPER STARS stop playing your team will not do very well....its so obvious i even painted you picture in the last post, oh well. He knows the problems I'm sure he hasn't missed a mariners game in 4 years as well.

Yeah, you're right Kerplunk... Seattle is the best team in the league. They rock. The others don't even compare. That's why they are 8 games out of first, have lost 5 in a row, and are 4-6 in their last 10. That's the mark of a great baseball team.

The Mariners are showing their true colors, living up to their true potential, and are going home at the end of September. Call me all the names you want, 'tard.... my team will be playing in October.

just to make it clear incase he can't scroll up or something, "and after the mariners got sweeped by texas, I agree ITS ALL OVER, my little bit of hope is completly gone, Zito, Hudson coming up after we just got sweeped by a team we were 25-7 against in the 2 years, just to reiterate my earlier point you obviously don't know anything about mariners" then i listed 10 reasons why they have sucked in the second half and baseballguru says that i'm a homer, and baseball guru is "your team" different year to year depending on who goes to the playoffs? and if you can't tell, already the only reason why i'm still posting in this thread is because of how ignorant baseball guru is, and because this is one of the topics in sports that i'm pretty sure "i know" and i'm pretty pissed off right now about it, last year we absoultly KILLed everybody and we had a team in the same division that won 101 games, and this year we can't manage to get in the playoffs when we were 3 games up at half, unbelieveable, and i'm not a good speller i don't like to recheck my posts like i'm turning in a friggin essay to my language teacher
