    Re: Cedeno traded

I can't beleive Widger is such a crybaby over being traded. It was obvious to me his offense stunk and his defense was decent at best. And he thinks McKay got the job because his Dad is buddies with the Manager? That could be true but McKay outplayed Widger and McKay is more versatile. And Widger couldn't call a ball game for anything. Trading Widger & Delgado for Cedeno and only paying around 1mil is one of the best moves by Jockety.

Not released. Designated for assignment, which means if another team doesn't pick him up, he goes to AAA.

Well McKay didn't exactly out produce Widger, Widger outhit him, McKay only hit .205! Frankly both of them are horrible but Widger is better at calling a game, and if you read the STL papers about a week ago some of the Cards pitchers weren't happy at the notion that Widger might've been waved because they are more comfortable with him than McKay. Mike DiFelice just got waived yesterday, personally I'd rather have him than Widger or McKay.

I guess it matters how you look at it. I remember when Widger first came over last year and he hit below .200 until like Augst/September. I think McKay will surprise alot of people. I got ticked off reading the article in the paper this morning because Widger was acting like he was guranteed the job and the team screwed him over.

Widger is someone you keep around for minor league depth and nothing more....why he would expect a MLB job is beyond me, hes just not worth it, imo
