Are you talking about when Maz brought it Lopez to face Damon? I think everyone just assumed he was going to bring in Groom but he didn't. The only ones that seemed confused by that were the announcers. Maz signaled with his right arm asking for Lopez... which seemed pretty straight-forward to me.

Anyways is it just me or did they change the backdrop behind the plate at Camden Yards? It looks like they're trying to copy Miller Park and Wrigley with the brick wall behind home plate.

I kept thinking that the O's were playing somewhere else because of that backdrop as well. It should be interesting to see what place they finish in the AL East this year.

Pedro will be find. This is the guy that has lead the league in ERA the last two seasons. I'm not worried by one average outing to start the season. The Sox haven't had a good showing on opening day the last two years (Pedro gets shelled by Toronto, Chad Fox blows the save). Don't worry baseball fans, Pedro will finish the season with his sub 2.50 ERA and 200+ k's.

Yeah, they changed the backdrop to add 2 rows of "corporate" seats behind home plate...which really pissed off the season ticket holders... a 2nd row seat last year is now a 5th row seat.

Exactly. Both Kapler and Bellhorn did a very good job filling in for Nomar and Nixon, too. Which is good, because they are going to be playing everyday for the next month or so.

I'm really suprised Fracona didn't bring in Embree to face Palmiero, and pinch hit Ellis Burks for Johnny Damon when the bases were loaded.
