I do need it on the score bug/stadium scoreboard, if not I believe it'll be ignored/half-assed.

There definitely will be a pitch clock on TV.

But what I'm wondering is if they could even just add it in as a small graphic on the mound. Or just have it pop up if it's about to expire.

Don't think the on court shot clock TNT had was as well recieved, but in MLBs case, it's a hard camera, so you could position it without it looking off.

Or, if the clock is behind home plate, basically looking like a regular clock (a rectangle) positioned right above the home plate ad. So the pitcher sees it, and viewers do too.

I mean, if the pitch clock thing is going to be serious and umpires are going to be handing out strikes/balls as penalty for violating it then pitchers are going to need a pitch clock behind home plate and on the scoreboard, if not somewhere around 3rd and 1st base for when they are looking at runners/holding them on.

Why do we need to see it on TV though?

We don't see the NBA shot clock until it is close to running out which is I suppose how MLB would do it too. Having it behind homeplate shall suffice (for me), the pitcher can see it and the viewer can see it. Guess I would need to see it in action to know if I would find it distracting (probably?).

I would compare it more to the NFL play clock rather than the NBA shot clock, because in the NBA your eyes are drawn to the action.

Again, we the TV viewing audience don't need a pitch clock in baseball. Yes, the pitcher needs it, but I don't need to see it on TV. The umpire needs it, but it can be where it needs to be. The spirit of the rule is to up the speed of play, not to decide whether a pitcher delivered within a split second of the clock hitting zeroes.

I've never had a problem with the game's flow from the pitcher's end, unless Jorge De La Rosa was pitching. I don't understand why batters do everything they have to do between pitches, though. Outside of getting signs or regrouping after a foul ball or something, just get ready for the next damn pitch lol.

Ha, actually I got that wrong, just tuned in to the Bulls/Bucks game and the 24 shot clock is always on the score bug (shows how much attention I pay ).

Pitch clock for the pitchers but the getting out of the box thing for the batters needs to be enforced too. And I would pretty much do away with calling timeout by hitters too.

If I'm the umpires I want those clocks out in the open on the scoreboard. Otherwise they are stuck making the call and taking all the heat, and they would probably give pitchers extra seconds just so they don't have to.

Why don't they do the thing where they silently fine players for every infraction? Weren't they doing that with the batter's box thing for a hot minute?

I think the clock is on digital boards for all to see.
