As usual, Brandon Woodruff is pitching a great game. As usual, it may not be enough for a team with nothing but contact hitters that's fighting for its playoff lives

Yep such a disappointment to waste another year of Burnes, Woody and Peralta.

We need massive changes to our offense this winter.

If the unlikely happens and they do come to Vegas, I believe the 37 acre festival grounds on the north end of the strip is expected to be the leading candidate for the home of the ballpark.

I love these deadlines that just lead to other deadlines. That's this whole stadium debacle in a nutshell. So stupid.

          Basically.

"So we're setting a deadline for next year."

          *Next year*

"OK, so you didn't meet the deadline. So you have until next month or else."

          *Next month*

"Guess you didn't hear us? You have until next year, no further questions!"

There was supposed to be a deadline by MLB for the A's to make some kind of progress towards deciding, but I can't remember what/when that even was. Feels like this is just leading to the A's renewing their coliseum lease for another X amount of years, which should not even be an option.

With no dog in the fight though, I'm hoping that the Mariners can make a run. They've got lots of fun players. Really all these teams do. Gonna be a good postseason

We split the series with the Braves in Atlanta, and it was all downhill from there. Good ole Phil set the tone for the season.

Anyone else getting tired of hearing from the media and some fans about how Judge's record is the legitimate record? It's an impressive record, he got the AL record, I enjoyed watching him chase it, and I genuinely like Judge the player, but Bonds is the HR king. Steroids or not, Bonds is one of, if not the best baseball player of all time and it's silly how people are treating this season. Judge had a crazy year, it is historical, but let's cool it on the legitimacy talk. Does anyone not trying to get clicks or eyeballs in really care about that at all?

Luckily MLB can't/won't do a damn thing about it, so people are free to live in their fantasy land without really affecting anything. The records are the records. I say this while also not being a huge fan of Bonds.

                            So.

Mike Trout is 35th all-time in career fWAR in only 1400 games. Pujols is 8 fWAR more in 1600 more games.

Not to take anything away from Judge or any of the other top single-season HR hitters but what Ruth did in 1927 will always be the most impressive to me.

Why? There were 16 teams in 1927 (8 in each league). Ruth hit more HRs than 12 of them. The rest of the Yankees and 3 NL clubs hit more than Ruth. That is amazing. It really puts into context what his 60 meant.
