The steals are just crazy this year. Seems so easy, guess it will just take some getting used to. Hey, it makes up for the modern-day strikeout rates. Was reading a Fangraphs article pointing out that, based on the current success rate, teams should actually be stealing more.

Just saw there is a “standing ovation” rule now…good grief, that is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever read. If the crowd is giving a guy a standing ovation, the ump should just roll with it.

I'd rather a rule than some stupid ump going into business for himself and ruining the moment.

Did you read the rule? Teams have to let MLB know 24 hours in advance…that’s stupid. The correct way to handle it is hold umps who lack common sense accountable, but that won’t happen.

Sergio Romo came out to pitch to three batters in a preseason game so he could retire as a Giant, and when taking the mound and the crowd giving him his moment I believe the umpire had charged two balls on him for delays of game.

These should just be discretionary acts. Unbelievable. There is increased pace of play, and there is this.

In an unimportant matchup between the 7-26 Oakland Athletics and the 8-25 Kansas City Royals, Lorenzo Cain is retiring as a Royal and they hosted an entire pregame ceremony in his honor. What was cool was for him to throw the first pitch, they got his three kids to start with the ball out in center field and chain a double-relay to him at the mound, where he threw the first pitch to Sal Perez.

And now I will switch to the A's broadcast, because I cannot stand Rex Hudler or their crappy broadcast audio mix (you'd know what I'm talking about if you've heard it before).

It was for a brutal accident. It's wild because that guy has got to be the most inoffensive sports broadcaster I have ever heard. His style is bland, it's like listening to your kindergarten teach do play by play. Very ironic and unfortunate.

Yup, very strange. And a Wisconski, no less. Wouldn't expect that from him.

I remember meeting him up near the Coca Cola bottle at Pacific Bell Park when he was the sideline reporter for the Giants, on the same day that Bonds hit #73 in 2001 (I was up there when he hit it). Not saying this means anything regarding his slip up, just thr story I wanted to say is all.

Again, just a very unfortunate thing was stated, and he clearly didn't mean to say it.

In other news, I had no idea Craig Counsell had the most luscious hair of and MLB manager lol. Hopefully Jomboy can help us out with a lip reading of his ejection later.

So I'm not up on what is offensive and what isn't as it seems to change everyday so someone correct me if I'm wrong but isn't negro now considered offensive? If so why is it still called the Negro Leagues, shouldn't it be the black leagues or african american leagues. The word negro is very easy to come out wrong.

That's not what Will I Am is saying.

Now I'm not equating the two words when it comes to improper usage, but let's not pretend it's any different than something like this (0:15 mark):
