The As have had more games with under 4600 fans (the capacity of Mullet Arena) than the Coyotes have had!

Even if you go per 41 games (instead of 81 since MLB has almost double the number of games) that fact is still true.

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said Thursday he will retire when his current term ends in January 2029.

Manfred stepping down in 2029. Good Riddance!

            Interesting final line
"Before Manfred leaves the job, he said Thursday, he hopes to have a process "in place" for the league to expand to 32 teams."

He's always said he wants the As and Rays stuff to be resolved before the league expands, guess we'll see before 2029 what happens.

I'm not opposed to a Rob Manfred retirement but I would rather he step down within a year of announcing he's stepping down. So he should in fact step down in 2025 as far as I'm concerned.

The owners are the one who kept him on another 5 years. This feels like he would've been fine being done after his last deal was done, retiring 10 years from when he began, but obviously who'd turn down a 5 year extension?

Yeah, the way I see it Rob wants out. And the owners are like, ''nah bruh, we'll tell you when your done with you.'' I'm sure I'd have a different take if I didn't loathe the man.

That's probably why he mentioned expansion too.

That's really the only other thing he wanted to do besides all the things we've seen like pitch clocks, pace of play stuff, universal DH and so on.

The guy who could take over for him seems to be big into the whole digital side of the MLB with MLB TV, the app and all other things. Wonder what kinds of things we could see with the new Commish.

I'm going to give Manfred props (for now) in regards to pitch clocks. He hit a grand slam with this one. Reduce game length without sacrificing offense? I never would have believed it if I didn't witness it. Baseball is a better TV Sport now. But it took Manfred long enough to get a hit though. And I also love that everyone plays everyone schedule. So he has 2 hits in my book. Twenty more hits, he will be even with the Mendoza Line.

So apparently the new Fanatics jerseys suck. And not just the fan jerseys, but also the ones the players wear.

They are aesthetically unpleasant but from what players were saying during the last all-star break, they wear well. Except for Cardinal Mikolas. He doesn't appear to be a fan.

                            Looks like cheap knock-offs.

Of course Nike makes things worse.

Ya, Manfred hasn't been great (but neither was Bud), but I have to give Manfred credit for the pitch clock. Not sold on the SB rules/enlarged bags, but whatever. Definitely not a fan of the expanded playoffs/IBB rule. He's been a 5 on a 1-10 scale as a commish, IMO.

As much as people hate Manfred, I've liked lots of stuff he's done. Runner on 2nd rule is one of the things I hate, but pitch clock is absolutely the best rule he's implemented. Games ending in around 2.5 hours is such a breath of fresh air.

And they just signed a 10 year deal with the NHL to be their official authentic jersey sponsor. Not gonna sit well with fans at all.

I've seen Fanatics NHL and NBA jerseys and they're horrible. Apparently the NBA one was so bad that their own arena stores didn't want to sell them. Fanatics ones seem to be more popular with women's jerseys since the adult/men's sizing/quality isn't as "female friendly".
