The Nationals new alternate home jersey is a pullover.

They're also getting new road jerseys.

Top one looks like some Warmup/BP shirt. Looks nice, but not as an actual jersey.

Bottom looks like generic block letter font.

Surprised it hasn't been mentioned here yet.

I think Pat Tillman and Dale Earnhardt are the two that get to me. In baseball, it's probably Darryl Kile and Jose Fernandez.

                That's an absolute shame.

I hope MLB steps in and restores it.

Essentially says Barry's use of his enormous elbow guard help to create his swing mechanics by creating more efficient movements due to its size/weight and restricting extension and artificially improving his swing and thus his numbers.

Not sure where the 75-100 number it references comes from, but honestly I can see how it would improve his numbers across the board because of how it impacted his mechanics.

that took me an embarrassingly long time to realize it was satire that went right over my head, I went as far as researching the author(s), leading me to realize Michael Witte was from St Louis and known for being an illustrator and cartoonist

or maybe I'm just up too late looking up random stuff and either getting fooled, or fearing getting fooled

I believe it helps compactness, for sure. My younger sister had an elbow guard growing up (and I mean since she was like ten years old) from the very first instance of her getting nailed in the elbow and practically shattering it, and I mean a full-size guard. I've tried it on a couple of times and it's very good at resisting movement, almost in a way that it keeps your elbow bent.

Not that I think it taints anything, though. Nor do I think the author is serious.

I specifically remembers fans and announcers for other teams complaining about it back in the day. But it was allowed by MLB, so it's more a case of him just being smarter than everyone else (if it actually was some huge advantage).
