Hilariously, on Braves fan forums I've read people suggesting we get Moncada/Benintendi for Teheran plus Swansby/Albies.

A-Rod's first contract with Texas was just fine. The real failures in Texas were guys like Chan Ho Park, but A-Rod made himself a national target as soon as the ink dried on that contract.

I can't agree with you here. Cruz simply misplaced a ball when he was out of position to begin with. That falls on Ron Washington's shoulders. You have to remember that in the ALCS, he clinched with the walk off grand slam which sent us to the World Series in the first place. Having Mazara helps now, but Choo was not a good replacement.

But while I don't care if Jeter was secretly a scumbag or just the most honest man in America, I don't know what Alex Rodriguez did to draw the ire of writers.

Yes, now, it's obvious. But I'm talking about 15 years ago. He didn't do anything but get paid. He was a positive role model, loved the game and played incredibly well. But he and Jeter got different treatments despite behaving just as similarly.
I was in the pro-Arod camp until he got nabbed with PEDs.

But to your point, I agree. He kept his mouth shut for the most part and just played hard. Why the hate?
It makes me wonder if it's simply a case of jealousy, or perhaps the reporters were seeing signs of a d'bag in disguise.
Joe Torre said that nobody really knows the real A-Rod because he's always pretending to be someone he thinks YOU want him to be.
Maybe reporters picked up on that earlier than the fans?

I guess this is Bryce making the game "fun again". Let's all shake your groove thing after hitting a single and getting an RBI, something that occurs only thousands of times throughout the season. *sigh*

Personally I like it. And if it bothers the other team too much, then a high and tight fastball will definitely send that message.

Just read a Verducci article on SI about Thor, interesting that the fastest thrown slider for the last couple of years has been a Met that blew his elbow out shortly after (Wheeler and Harvey). Hope Thor can stay healthy, it's awesome watching this guy pitch
