      No problem with that.
      1. It wasn't just 'another' single that happens thousands of times.
It was a 2-out single that put his team within 1 run of tying the game. And with runners on the corners as well.
      2. Every team seems to make-up some dumb little gesture they adopt as their 'hoorah' moment for the season.
That little jig might be the Nats "thing" this year, similar to the Jays 'stirring the drink' or the Brewers "Monster Crush" (or whatever the heck that was) from a few years back.
      3. Harper rules.

        1. Didn't say just a single. Said single/RBI.... still happens thousands of times.. or hundreds. I don't give a ****...same concept.
        2. It's douchey.... especially for routine stuff. And especially if it's going to still have your team trailing.
        3. Enjoy your man crush.

If people celebrating "routine" things bothers you so much then I suggest you stop watching all together, because you're just going to be watching more "douchey" celebrations.

          Its not going away.

Okay...here's the bottom line. I think Harper's a douchebag. So when he does it, it bothers me, especially in a situation like that. Sorry, I just like a good player who doesn't have to do all the mannerisms, etc. , etc. Has nothing to do with being "old". I had the same attitude in my teens and 20's.

So it was much more enjoyable to have him make the last out in a game where I thought he was, again, acting like a douchebag. And I enjoyed it even more when his team got their asses handed to them in a 2 hit shutout by a much, much more inferior team.

            now... get off my lawn.

Bring on the celebrating. Baseball should be fun. Not every player should act like Tony Gwynn or Edgar Martinez.

Exactly...also you need to bring young kids into the fold if you want your sport to grow.

I want there to be even more celebrating.

Soccer players score a goal, something that happens thousands of times a year, and they lose their ****.

I always find it strange that all the ire seems to be directed towards hitters when it comes to celebrations and attitude. Pitchers can fist pump, stare, do their BS tough guy routine (Bumgarner) and it's all good. Hell, it's celebrated by people. Somehow that is legit and old school, but hitters can't do jack.
