    re: MLB Off-Topic

I'm just saying that sometimes a different pair of eyes and a slightly different philosophy might be a good way to freshen up the franchise. Yeah the salary restrictions hurt them a lot so maybe that might not be the best idea in the world. No one stays in one role forever, even John Schuerholtz stopped being the GM of the Braves after being in that role for years.

I'm not saying throw him to the curb. All i'm saying is that a possible idea would be to change the person on top.

Making any change to Beane's current role would be pretty awful imo.

Stick with being a big fish in a small pond, Friedman.

The Los Angeles Dodgers named former Tampa Bay Rays general manager Andrew Friedman as their new president of baseball operations on Tuesday.

YEAH it does suck for Rays fans, but myself and many other Dodgers fans are excited. I'm glad Ned Colletti is no longer the GM. I couldn't stand that guy. I'm curious who Friedman will Hire as the new GM.

There is now some talk that the Dodgers and Rays could possibly workout a deal for Joe Maddon. That would be interesting.

I'm pretty sure Friedman will be the GM. He basically was the man running the show in Tampa with the exact same title. Interesting about the Maddon rumors....Jeez, the Rays are being ripped apart from the executive and management positions. If Maddon goes then Tampa better try and promote Dave Martinez ASAP.

Beane gets them to the postseason consistently. Why would you want a different guy?

Friedman is not going to be the "GM" -- they're giving him the Theo Epstein role. He'll probably hire a GM who shares his vision and can take care of the day-to-day grind. Leave it to the Dodgers to make an announcement like this on a day where their arch-rival is playing in the NLCS, lol.

I think it's safe to say that Beane is one of those guys that isn't going anywhere until he decides he is.

Yeah really. I thought Sekig put some rule in a few years ago about not being allowed to announced trades or acquisitions till the World Series was over. Obviously it was just more of a request by him and not a rule like I'm thinking.

Probably cause of the A-Rod thing, I would imagine.

John Buccigross (sportscenter anchor) said "the Royals are going to go to the World Series. It's done."
If the Orioles go out and win 4 straight we know who to blame lol.
