They won't miss his bat too much but the defense will be a gaping hole unless they get someone ASAP.

Bregman I thought was rated pretty well for his defense at SS coming out of LSU. I know he moved to third, but I think he can push back over and hold his own.

The Giants' sellout streak came to an end the other night at 535 games.

They're keeping Bregman at 3rd and letting Marwin Gonzalez start at SS as he's been really good this season in a super utility role.

For anyone still torn up over the Astros removing Tal's Hill, the Isotopes have you covered.

I lived in Albuquerque when the name was chosen after moving on from the Dukes. Was happy they chose Isotopes but never thought it would actually happen.

The Giants are considering re-signing Pablo Sandoval.

The contract must state one thing for me to want in:

                        - He has to reduce his weight to 230 lbs or less.
                        - He has to hit 50 points above his weight.

If he does not, his contract is void.

An additional one for you: He has to hit as many or more homers as his body fat %....

Funny you say that, I was actually going to say that exact same thing. Problem is I didn't know his actual body fat % value and I didn't want it to be something ridiculous.

I would say that hitting 50 points above his body weight or the contract is void is where it started getting ridiculous.

Oof, seems like Dennis Eckersley isn't exactly a great guy

That being said I think Price and some of the other BoSox players aren't exactly taking the high road either. Certainly, there are better ways to address matters with him. Even ownership doesn't seem to care much for Eck either. I would not be surprised if he's let go from his broadcasting contract in Boston at the end of the year.

According to the Boston Globe’s Dan Shaughnessy, the conflict between Price and the Hall of Fame pitcher and NESN analyst followed a critical remark Eckersley made regarding Red Sox starter Eduardo Rodriguez. When stats from a rough Rodriguez rehab start flashed on the TV broadcast, Eckersley said “yuck.”

On the day of the episode, Price was standing near the middle of the team aircraft, surrounded by fellow players, waiting for Eckersley. When Eckersley approached, on his way to the back of the plane (Sox broadcasters traditionally sit in the rear of the aircraft), a grandstanding Price stood in front of Eckersley and shouted, “Here he is — the greatest pitcher who ever lived! This game is easy for him!’’

When a stunned Eckersley tried to speak, Price shot back with, “Get the [expletive] out of here!’’
                                – Boston Globe

This wasn’t the first time that Eckersley, a veteran of 24 MLB seasons, has been involved in a confrontation with a Red Sox player. Shaughnessy reports that Jackie Bradley Jr. took a photo standing and smiling with Eckersley two years ago. Once on the team plane, Bradley Jr. tweeted the picture to his followers with a memorable caption.

For context the picture is of a smiling Eck and JBJ in front of the team plane and his caption reads "Huge thanks to @Eck43 for saying all the things I "can't" do these past few days. People like you is what drives me

The confrontation between Price and Eckersley took place on a team flight to Toronto following a June 29 game with the Minnesota Twins. Shaughnessy reports that Red Sox CEO Sam Kennedy, “handled (the matter) internally in Toronto.” There hasn’t been an apology to Eckersley from Price or Boston manager John Farrell, according to the Globe.

“I stand up for my teammates,” Price told Shaughnessy. “Whatever crap I catch for that, I’m fine with it.”
