Re: MLB Off-Topic
I mean he was found guilty at Houston for his role and is being investigated for doing the same thing in Boston.
He’s going to get suspended and it could be harsher than what happened to Hinch because he’s accused of doing it twice.
He has to be fired unless as an organization you want to send the message that wins matter more than the integrity of the sport

Re: MLB Off-Topic
I find it hilarious that the team who was caught cheating is now singing about others to take them down with them. The same team that tanked for 3 years to even get where they are today. I'm all for cleaning this up across the board but Houston is hardly the beacon of honesty.

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Saw some rumors that Alex Cora is getting a lifetime ban; Carlos Beltran was going to get punished, but then MLB realized he is managing the Mets and figured that was punishment enough.

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Going to be interesting if all of the home runs aren’t due to the baseball, but instead hitters getting tipped off to fastballs and sitting on them.
Also, this has to really hurt Betts’ stock when it comes to trades/FA. How good is he really? He really took off when Cora showed up...

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Well if you check the stats in other seasons to compare you actually do see that he was really good but then took off with Cora.
He was really good before Cora, but in 2018 he had career highs in doubles, HR, SB, BA, OBP, SLG, OPS and most of those highs shattered everything he had done previously. There are many legitimate reasons why that could be the case (pop year, coming into his prime, etc), but it is also an outlier that coincides with Cora coming into the picture.
2 of his 3 best seasons came under Cora, and 1 of those shattered everything else. Again there are legitimate reasons why this could be the case (like being a 25/26 year old instead of a 22 year old).
I'm not saying he isnt a great player. The timing of everything is unfortunate for him though, and I think that is what SF was getting at.

I’m not saying that he’s not good/that’s why he did what he did; I’m talking about perception in the industry. I already heard a couple of front office types voice that it casts doubt on the kind of player you are getting because you don’t know how much help he was getting.

Re: MLB Off-Topic
I'll take Mookie Betts on the Cardinals under the perception that I'm getting a great player who is capable as he matures of repeating, or bettering, the numbers he had in 2016.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I'm not allowed to reply, or some people might overreact.
To others, makes you wonder how good Alex Bregman really is. Or Carlos Correa, or George Springer, or Jose Altuve, or...Boston Red Sox
