Was legit obsessed with that story for the better part of 2013 and still never figured out whether Teo was a liar or a total dupe.

This Astros' scandal is quite the Twitter rabbit hole though.

      Re: MLB Off-Topic

From everything I've heard on Tv/radio, the summed up version so far sounds like:

-Someone claiming to be Beltrans niece(or do they simply just call him uncle?) mentioned Altuve in the moment he got a HR off Chapman in the playoffs

-That same someone got Beltran hired and leaving the Mets correct before anyone else

-Altuve was allegedly wearing something on him and didnt want guys taking his jersey off during that HR

-After the HR, Altuve went to the tunnel to change into the winning tshirt that was given out

-In the interview with Rosenthal after the HR, he was asked about why he didnt want guys taking off his jersey. He claimed he was shy and his wife would get mad.

-To top it all off, Gary Sheffield Jr is claiming the person who is behind that account is actually a player

And then theres the whole Redick "confetti" thing on his chest in the interview on and off the field.

            Re: MLB Off-Topic

In August 2017, the Boston Red Sox were caught transmitting sign information from their replay review room to individuals in the dugout wearing smart watches. The incident received significant media attention, and I issued a press release on September 15, 2017 announcing the fine of the Red Sox (and a fine of the New York Yankees for improperly using the replay review room phone)...

Following the issuance of the press release announcing the results of the Red Sox investigation, I issued a memorandum that same day to all Clubs reiterating the rules regarding the use of electronic equipment to steal signs, and putting all Clubs on notice that future violations would be taken extremely seriously by my office. I specifically stated in the memorandum that the General Manager and Field Manager of Clubs would be held accountable for any violations of the rules in the future. Thus, all Clubs were put on notice as of September 15, 2017 that any use of electronic equipment to steal signs would be dealt with more severely by my office.

For every intend and purposes the Commissioner put all 30 Clubs on notice on September 15th, 2017 that any sign stealing by electronic means occurring after this date "would be dealt with more severely by my office".

Key date is September 15th, 2017. Anyone that continued stealing signs by electronic means after that date I would expect to be punished.

By the way, the thing that will likely come out of this is Manfred really pushing for the earpieces for pitchers/catchers or whatever. I know some people here are for this, but I'm really ehh with it. If anything logical, remember that they wouldn't get this at some lower level somewhere.

What I say is get rid of replay. It sounds like a lot of this has to do with the fact that they get access to a replay room or something like that.

the punishment should fit the crime, the Asstros should be banned from using signs all year. Houston pitchers can only throw fastballs.

The "direct signal" by electronic means for catchers/pitchers is something I see myself ranting about to the top of my lungs and then accepting it 5 minutes later.

                  Wait for the rant.

Remember when the steroid scandal broke only a few players were involved and then with the Mitchel report more and more names were revealed. I think the same thing is going to happen here.
First the Astros then Red Sox..... who’s next?

Just the tip of the iceberg maybe?

                      Re: MLB Off-Topic

For consistency’s sake, though, MLB will have to follow that trail if it leads anywhere else. It’s quite likely that the Astros and Red Sox weren’t the only two teams engaging in at least low-level forms of illegal sign stealing; every team has a video room and must have been tempted to use it improperly. On Monday, MLB player Logan Morrison suggested that the Dodgers and Yankees have also “used film to pick signs.” In 2018, members of the Brewers suggested that the Dodgers were stealing signs. In November, BBWAA member Jeff Jones reported that multiple players had told him that the Brewers and Rangers have stolen signs electronically, and Yu Darvish fueled further speculation about the Brewers. None of that smoke has turned into fire, but it’s probably risky for any MLB fan base to proclaim its team pure or complain too loudly about losing to known sign stealers. That said, Manfred will have to be poked pretty hard for the league to acknowledge that the scandal extends beyond Boston and Houston.

I guess the best thing for baseball would for the Dodgers to be in on it too so the calls to vacate the Title turn moot (but what about the 3rd place finisher!).

                          So...

If it's TRUE, does Altuve and Bregman get suspended? Is there MORE punishment yo be handed down by MLB?

This is much more than spygate imo.
