Any info on who was in the deal?

Yeah, Doc's not fooling anybody. Only 3 types of people get a physique like he's got: marathon runners, cancer patients, and heavy, heavy cocaine users. Pick which one you think applies to him.

I think the NYDN is being kind when they characterize him as "frail looking'. The man looks like he's knocking on heaven's door.

              So very heartbreaking to see

The incredible amount of pure raw talent he had at such a young age was amazing, it's a shame he could never really get his life together and fully explore what could have been a legendary career. All that aside I wish him the best as no man should suffer no matter his vices in life, best wishes to you Doc!

Both Darryl and Doc could have had HOF careers. Darryl seems to have his stuff together, but it's heart-breaking seeing Doc now. Watching him on that 30 for 30 special was painful. It's scary what addiction does to a person.

At what point do we stop feeling pity?

For Gooden, I think the time has long passed. Fine, go ahead guy. Do what you want.

Nobody said anything about pity, just saying what could have been, and I mean the guy threw his life away on his own accord but that's no reason to say oh well go ahead and suffer, anyway to each their own everyone handles the cards of life they were dealt very different.

I don't think I feel pity but more like, "You had the world in your hands and threw it all away. Not once but 2-3 times.".

It's pretty sad but at the same time he's a grown *** man who has succumbed to the pull of cocaine.

Surprised that nobody has mentioned Butler vs Valencia. After reading the story, I can't believe that Billy Butler tattled on Valencia for not wearing the correct, sponsored equipment. If that's actually how it went down (and it's not a Cartmanized Valencia version of the story), Butler deserved to get whacked.

Next, I would like to see Valencia vs Odor for the title belt.

Aug 30, the day the Tim Tebow experiment begins. 20 clubs confirmed to be there.

Mine is the 10, thinking about treating myself and heading up to DC to see the Nats in the NLDS. Would be a fun weekend
