I think the Only league he would be able to play in is the Independent League and that's only if the Yankees allow him too.

I think there's one thing we can be certain of, this isn't he last we've heard of A-Rod.
The only thing he despises more than being out of baseball is being out of the news.
I'm sure he'll do and say some stuff over the next 12 months to make sure his name is still on everyone's lips.Last edited by Money99; 02-08-2014, 07:18 AM.Comment

I think Rodriguez is ready to shut up and pray he can play well enough not to embarrass himself next Spring. The Yankees got him for 15-17 and owe him 61 mil. He isn't going to walk away and I find it hard to believe they will just outright release him.
After all the crap he's pulled what they should do is sit him down for 3 years.Comment

I think it's the opposite, honestly. He's going to fade away. I think he'll attempt a comeback, but it'll be futile. He's not good enough to be touched by an organization now.
I'm surprised this was dropped, though. The MLB, MLBPA, and NYY did nothing to support him, despite it being somewhat of their job (at least the PA). They all dropped him like a bad habit, as any self respecting person would, but being a player's association, it was surprising how fast they cut ties with him. And I'm sure MLB did some shady stuff to get to the bottom of what really happened. It's amazing how tarnished his name and reputation is that even though there seemed to be a decent chance that he could get by on some stuff, that he's dropped it completely. I was not expecting this, I was expecting him to continue to pester the MLB et al.
Hats off to MLB for doing away with one of the true villains of this era. It's not like he just cheated, he did everything he could to be a complete POS... And for that, good riddance!NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

I think we'll see him in some celebrity UFC match against Jose Canseco..."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Re: A-Rod gave up on suit, will serve suspension.
Don't think he ever really had any intention of going through with it. He had no chance of winning, it would have been very costly, and there's no way he ever wanted to risk having to go under oath.
I do actually think this stuff is over and he's pretty much going to disappear this year. And I think he'll keep himself in shape and attempt to come back and contribute next year, and the Yankees will give him every opportunity to do so. They aren't paying him $61 million to go away.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment
