    Today's Players Or Yesterday's Players?

Do you think Babe Ruth or Christy Mathewson would do as well playing today? I'm not saying if they had access to the training methods of today, but how much of baseball is based on athletic ability and how much based on skill (Fernando Valenzuela was overweight and grew up playing in dirt sandlots and he turned out pretty good)? Can the old timers play in this day and age and be dominant like they were? Interested in all opinions.

I`m not sure if they would be as dominant, but they`d still be good.

I don't know if you could answer that question. The game is completely different. The one thing I'd bet on is they would be pissed about the DH rule.

Right, I'd want to know your opinions. Noone can answer for sure, but I'm interested in knowing what you'd think and why?

I think that some of the old time pitchers might be put down a notch or two but still be amazing. There are some that would be amazing in any era tho.

If anything some of the hitters would probably struggle a lot. The TRUE legends would make it regardless of era but there's a select few of them.

I think the hitters of old would do just as well since the game is more hitter friendly, and the parks are smaller.

The older pitchers would struggle for the same reason. And I think a lot of today's hitters would struggle in the old parks. How many HRs would Bonds have now if he were still in Candlestick? Or a park like Forbes Field?
