Re: Official Padres Get Jinxed by MSU Thread

Wow, I haven't heard a peep from MSU about the Padres since I made this thread. Must've worked. Today's game, ESPN 2 I think, 7:05 start (moved earlier to accomodate ESPN). Peavy vs. Schmidt, Bonds vs. Home Run Streak, Giles vs. Cold Streak, and Klesko vs. CF Wall.

I don't feel like creating another Padres Thread, anyways, the 3-3 home stand is fine, but I hope we don't see anything as horrible as Sunday's game... Eaton looked lost out their on the mound. The Padres have to do well against the Reds. Giles is finally swinging the bat (for weeks now), Phil looks like he has it together again, but Klesko might be a little lost out their in LF and at the plate considering he hasn't played since April 30. Cirillo is now back, but I don't know who's spot he's taking. I'll be interested if they have him replace MIT, Szuminski that is.

Good series win. Thanks to Jiminez, that was blow out (you don't have to look farther than his performance today on the field to figure out why he's been on several different teams). Puffer looked good, but was hit hard, must be the first appearance jitters. Two hard hit singles and a deep fly ball by Griffey, but he came away unscathed. The high points of the game must be the baserunning and Peavy, who started the game off poorly. Bring on the Cubs. No Wood means it should be an easier assignment, but not by much.

This offense is pissing me off. They'll score 8 runs in one game, then score a combined 8 the next 4 games. The so-called "run producers" aren't driving in the runs. Giles, I don't care how well you hit at home, we gave up a lot to get you, but you only go on a one week tear and that's it.

All I see is a bunch of overrated players in the middle of the lineup.

It's only May and they're 2 games out playing like this, just be calm. You're acting like Giles has been here for two years and he's proven that he's not worth it. Things will come around, just wait. The 8 runs they scored on thursday came on just 6 hits, so it's not like they ripped the cover off the ball that night.

You failed to mention the likes of Nevin and Klesko, who only whine about this ballpark. Each time the offense looks like it'll come around, it craps out. Sure they had a eight run game that day, but only because Jiminez showed why he's been on several teams in just a short time span.

                              I expected better against Maddux.
