    Jermaine Dye Progression

Jermaine Dye has 6 homeruns this year so far, with a .850 slugging percentage, and 13 RBI's 10 games into the season. If he continues to get 6 HR's every 10 games (like he has so far), he will end up with 96 HR's! now i know there is no way for this to happen, but thats just a calculation for if he continues to hit 6 HR's every 10 games. Jermaine Dye has never played as good as he has this season.

sooo . . . . are there any A's fans here as surprised as I am with his progression from last season to this one?

I'm not. Dye had a great spring training and I was hoping it would continue into the regular season. If he can stay healthy, he might have a shot at the MVP.

I remember him playing this well back when he was w/ the Royals/Braves, he had a great season, even making the All Star team. He's been injured too much, but this year he's come out to prove that he's still the player he once was.

yes, that was exactly what i was thinking. i was watchin baseball tonight and they were discussing the A's, and if the season ended today Dye would definately be the AL MVP. he is playing great and is giving the A's a real big boost as the best team in the AL. surprisingly, no one is talking bout the A's but we got the best record and just had a shutout last night in Anaheim vs the angels, so we are looking good.

I was hoping Dye would have this kind of season this year.

This is the year the A's need him the most, after the departure of Tejada.

He's an excellent player, I was able to see him play with the Braves. He's always had talent, it has just been injuries that have plagued him.

I just hope he continues this kind of game

                      Go A's!

Yeah I agree. He's always had tons of talent, but has been injured so often lately that we haven't had a chance to see it. If he can stay healthy, he can definately put up some good numbers...
