Not sure why Matheny left Rosenthal to hit with the winning run in scoring position, but I'm not complaining.

Obviously intends to pitch him another inning, but why burn your closer out for the day game tomorrow?

And the Cubs make an nearly-equally baffling move with a 1 out bunt with the go-ahead run on second. Popped it up.

I was curious about the Rosenthal move, too. Greg Amsinger on MLB Tonight brought up a good point about hitting with Rosenthal if you want him throwing another inning.

If they would have bunted with Yadi and moved the runners to 2nd and 3rd with 1 out, the Cubs probably walk Shane Robinson and bring Rosenthal up with 1 out.

Would you want the pitcher more likely to make the 2nd out, or 3rd out of the inning?

I can understand not wanting to take the bat out of Yadi's hands with the bunt, but it's definitely an interesting dilemma.

In the end, I pinch hit Rosenthal and take my chance that an actual hitter can get a 2 out knock.. if not, bring in another arm next inning and go from there.

Like you though, I'm not complaining
